BAM Construction preferred bidder for early stages  of Dover District Leisure Centre Contract

Hemel Hempstead, 9 January 2017 - Dover District Council has announced that BAM Construction is its preferred contractor for the pre-construction phase of the new £26 million Dover District Leisure Centre. This follows a competitive tender held towards the end of 2016 procured through the Southern Construction Framework. Contract terms are currently being finalised.

BAM secures place on new capital framework for Staffordshire County Council

Hemel Hempstead, 5 January 2017 - BAM has been appointed to a new major projects capital procurement framework by Staffordshire County Council. BAM has been appointed for schemes valued at £9 million and above. The Council’s initial assessment is that this will produce around £30 million to £60 million of schemes over the framework’s four year term. Work on offer will consist mostly of schools, sporting and day care facilities.

BAM has teamed up with major European design consultants Sweco to assist with project delivery.

Hemel Hempstead, 13 December 2016 - Elliott Hudson College in Beeston, Leeds has selected a preferred contractor to deliver its new sixth form college building. Acting through the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA’s) regional framework, the College is now working with BAM Construction on the initial stages of the £11.1 million new home that will unite its students and staff who are currently in two separate buildings.

Northern Ireland Health Minister cuts first sod on major Belfast Health project

Belfast, 8 December 2016 – Northern Ireland Health Minister, Michelle O’Neill, has cut the first sod for a new purpose built Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Belfast City Hospital, to be built by the GRAHAM-BAM Healthcare Partnership.

BAM wins new building contract in Denmark

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 7 December 2016 – BAM Danmark has won the contract for the renovation and extension of the offices for the department of public works for the city of Helsingør (‘Forsyning Helsingør Nyt Driftscenter’), situated 30 kilometers north of Copenhagen. The contract value is approximately € 16 million.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 December 2016 – The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Dr. W.H.A. Swinkels RO as  Director Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) with effect from 1 January 2017. Currently Walter Swinkels (1975) is a partner at consultant CPI Risk Finance Governance and also a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam.

New BSI Kitemark for PAS 1192-2 to act as seal of approval for companies qualified to deliver projects at the design and construction phase

(Press release BSI (British Standards Institution):) London, 6 December 2016 - BSI, the business standards company, has today launched a new Kitemark for BIM (Building Information Modelling), helping construction businesses around the world prove their capabilities in delivering projects at the design and construction phase. The first organizations worldwide to achieve the Kitemark for PAS 1192-2 are Balfour Beatty Plc, BAM Ireland, BAM Construct UK Ltd, Gammon Construction Ltd, Skanska UK Plc and voestapline Metsec Plc.

BAM renews revolving credit facility on improved terms into 2022

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 29 November 2016 – Royal BAM Group nv has renewed its revolving credit facility until 31 March 2022. The arrangement is a fully committed revolving credit facility and replaces the previous facility of currently €417.5 million, which was due to expire in January 2018.

Hemel Hempstead, 24 November 2016 - It has taken 25,500 man hours, 100 tonnes of steel, and 3,700 cubic metres of excavated waste to create, but the contractors behind the new Harington School’s sixth form building have completed it without a single cut finger. And what’s more, they have done so four weeks earlier than planned.

BAM wins office contracts in Berlin

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 21 November 2016 – BAM Deutschland, the German construction company of Royal BAM Group nv, has won two contracts for the construction of the East Side Office (phase2 and 3) which are part of the Postbahnhof project in Berlin. The client is NDC Real Estate Management GmbH. The total contract value is over €30 million. In 2015 BAM Deutschland won phase 1, which will be completed shortly. The phases 2 and 3 will be delivered in September 2018.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 17 November 2016 - BAM Nuttall Ltd has been awarded the Central Enabling Works Contract for High Speed Two (HS2) as part of a joint venture. The contract will be worth up to £100 million to the company over a period of four years.

Independent inspectors score construction of new student development as ‘exceptional’

Hemel Hempstead, 16 November 2016 - Independent inspectors have praised work at a new student accommodation scheme in Newcastle, ranking it as ‘exceptional’ for its appearance, environmental measures and its approach to its workforce. 410 student flats in four, five and seven storey buildings in the centre of the city at Stoddart Street are being built by major contractors BAM Construction, who have offices in Gateshead.

Egham’s newest building gets thumbs up from the inspectors

Hemel Hempstead, 14 November 2016 - A new development in Egham, Surrey, has been described by inspectors as ‘exceeding excellent’. The new Gartner European headquarters, owned by Royal London Asset Management and located on The Glanty in Egham is due to complete externally in February and it will then be fitted out internally through until August. It was visited by an inspector from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).
