OpenIJ successfully renegotiates financing schedule with banking syndicate

(Press release OpenIJ:) IJmuiden, the Netherlands, 21 February 2019 – The OpenIJ consortium finalised the discussion with its banking syndicate regarding the rescheduling of the financing for the construction of the world’s largest sea lock. OpenIJ can resume drawing from its banking facilities in line with the agreed new schedule with immediate effect.

Doors open to show Jedburgh Campus progress

BAM plants 9,000 trees around Ireland as part of 150-year celebration

Kill, Co. Kildare, 15 February 2019 - Royal BAM Group commits to planting 150,000 trees worldwide this year to highlight sustainability agenda. BAM Ireland marked its international 150-year anniversary this weekend. Staff and their families were joined by ‘Trees on the Land’ as they volunteered to help plant, 9,000 trees at four locations across the island of Ireland.

BAM wins new design and build contract in Denmark

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 February 2019 – The municipality of Høje-Taastrup, twenty kilometers west of Copenhagen, has awarded BAM Danmark a design and build contract for a community school for the new urban expansion district, the suburb of Nærheden. The contract value is approximately €40 million.

Pupils capture time ahead of new school opening

Glasgow, 1 February 2019 - Representatives from BAM Construction and hub West Scotland joined Garscadden & Scotstounhill Councillor, Chris Cunningham, in helping pupils from Blairdardie Primary School mark the next step in the construction of their new school by burying a time capsule.

BAM commissioned two electric Renault commercial vehicles at Schiphol, including the first electric Renault Master ZE with solar panels in the Netherlands. BAM Infra Energie & Water uses the electric vehicles for its works for lot 4.

Schiphol, the Netherlands, 29 January 2019 - Schiphol has signed long-term contracts with BAM, Heijmans and VolkerWessels. The construction companies can carry out works at Schiphol for a maximum period of nine years with a total estimated value of €2.5 to €3.5 billion over this period. The majority of the works are for maintaining and investing in existing infrastructure at the airport.

Greatham South Flood Alleviation Scheme reaches completion, UK

(News release Mott MacDonald:) London, 8 January 2019 - The £16 million Greatham South Flood Alleviation scheme has been completed. The BAM Nuttall Mott MacDonald joint venture (JV) was commissioned by the Environment Agency in 2017 to design and build the second and final phase of the management scheme which addresses flooding concerns in Port Clarence and Greatham South area in the north of England.
