Bunnik/Gorinchem, 19 December 2003 – The merger between Ballast Ham Dredging (BHD) and Van Oord ACZ (announced on 3 October 2003) was formally concluded today.

Bunnik, 19 December 2003 – Royal BAM Group nv confirms that the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has imposed a fine totalling €27.5 million on various business units within the Group for infringements of the Competition Act. The business units concerned are HBG Civiel bv, HWZ bv, NBM Noordwest bv and BAM NBM Wegenbouw Noordoost bv.

Bunnik, 16 December 2003 – Royal BAM Group nv confirms that one of the Group's business units has been advised by the Public Prosecutions Department of a provisional decision to continue proceedings against the business unit and two of its staff in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Dutch construction industry.

Bunnik, 12 December 2003 – After the General Meeting of Shareholders on the 7 May 2004 the Supervisory Board of the Royal BAM Group nv will appoint J. (Jan) Ruis as a member of the Executive Board. Mr Ruis (53) has been employed by the Group since 1971 and is currently director Finance. He will join the Board as Chief Financial Officer.

Bunnik, 4 December 2003 – On the strength of the results for the third quarter, Royal BAM Group nv reaffirms the expectation of achieving a higher profit per ordinary share in 2003 (2002: €4.35), corresponding to a net profit of approximately €80 million on a turnover of around €7.7 billion.

Bunnik, 4 December 2003 – Royal BAM Group nv plans to sell the shares of three subsidiaries active in the pipes and cables market to Infraspecials bv in a transaction to take effect as from 1 January 2004. The companies concerned are Pevac bv and Petrol Systems & Services bv, both based in Ridderkerk, and BAM NBM Petrol Stations & Industry bv, in Montfoort. The three companies together employ approximately one hundred staff. Their combined turnover amounts to around €15 million. Infraspecials has been set up by the management, Messrs H. Croes and G. Slotman.

Bunnik, 21 November 2003 – The German tunnelling specialist Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau – a Royal BAM Group operating company – is a partner in the joint venture that has been awarded the contract to build a section of Cologne’s North/South Metro Line. The contract is worth €385 million, with a share in excess of €128 million for W&F Ingenieurbau. The client is Kölner Verkerhrs-Betriebe AG.

Rohcon, the main building contractor of BAM’s operations in Ireland, is currently executing works to the value of three million euros on block 14 of the Collins Barracks in Dublin, which are on record as being the oldest barracks complex in Europe.

Just outside Sur, Oman, Interbeton has started work on the preparations for the design and construction of cooling water systems as part of extra production facilities for liquefied natural gas. The LNG plant expansion project is being undertaken by the Japanese main contractor Chiyoda. The contract value for Interbeton exceeds 18 million US dollars.

John Martin Construction, part of Nuttall, is undertaking the renovation of the dry dock containing the S.S. Great Britain in Bristol. The old wooden seals on the dock gates, which had almost rotted away, have been replaced.

Bunnik, 5 November 2003 - The extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Koninklijke BAM Groep nv (Royal BAM Group), which took place in Amsterdam this afternoon, has approved the transaction concerning Ballast Ham Dredging (BHD). BHD is to merge with Van Oord ACZ, creating a new dredging company under the name Van Oord.
