Glasgow City Council has awarded HBG Construction a fourteen million euro refurbishment contract at the Glasgow City Halls, incorporating the old Fishmarket adjacent to the building, with work beginning this month and completion set for July 2005.

Celtic Roads Group, which includes BAM’s Irish operating company Ascon, has been awarded the contract for design, build, finance, operate and maintenance of the Dundalk Western Bypass, north of Dublin. The contract value amounts to €170 million, with a share in excess of €55 million for Ascon. This is the third major infrastructural PPP-project in which Royal BAM Group is involved. Previous projects were the A59 near Rosmalen and the N31 in Friesland.

The building of a new pier spoils the view of the runways from the old tower. It was this that prompted Belgocontrol to opt for a new tower in a different position. BAM’s Belgian operating company CEI is executing the project in joint venture with sister company Galère.

HBG Construction completed the first Wm Morrissons superstore in Scotland. Wm Morrissons Supermarkets plc is a major retailer in the North of England and the new superstore in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, represents the company’s first move north of the border.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 14 February 2004 – Prompted by recent rumours concerning possible involvement of construction companies forming part of the Group in breaches of the Competition Act allegedly occurring prior to November 2001, Royal BAM Group has contacted the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa). The Group has advised the NMa that it will lend every assistance with any inquiries conducted by the NMa in response to these rumours.
