Work is now well underway on the £10m state-of-the-art Garden World at Bentham's Way in Southport. Set to open in March 2008, the roof of the building is in place and HBG Construction has now started work on the 5,000 m2 garden centre. The 6 hectare site, located on the eastern edge of the town, occupies a rural position within Sefton, Liverpool.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 11 December 2007 - Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau - the German tunnel specialist of Royal BAM Group nv - has won a contract (in joint venture with Held & Francke and Habau) for the construction of the Hengsberg tunnel with a length of approximately 1.7 kilometre near Koralm. The tunnel is part of the new high-speed railway line between Graz and Klagenfurt in Austria. The contract includes also the construction of three escape shafts, six kilometre railroad embankment and several other elements of civil engineering works. Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau is leading the consortium. The total contract value amounts to approximately € 75 million.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 10 December 2007 - The joint venture between BAM PPP and investor DIF (Dutch Infrastructure Fund) - which was announced by Royal BAM Group on 29 May 2007 - is now established and has acquired four operational projects from BAM PPP. Initially BAM PPP will hold 75 per cent of the new company, but the intention of both parties is to have equal shares by the end of 2009. The initial divestment of 25 per cent results in a book profit for BAM of approximately €12.5 million. This amount was already included in BAM's net profit forecast for 2007 of at least €310 million, as published 29 November.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 7 December 2007 - The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Mr W. Konings chairman of the management of BAM Wegen bv at Utrecht with immediate effect. Wim Konings (55) is the successor of B.J. Wierenga, who has accepted a position elsewhere. Mr Konings was already director of BAM Wegen.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 6 December 2007 - The sale of the US operating company Flatiron by Royal BAM Group nv to Hochtief AG (as announced 25 September last) has been officially closed today.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 3 December 2007 - Royal BAM Group nv will sign a covenant with FSC Nederland on 4 December 2007. As part of the agreement, BAM will commit itself to do all it can to use FSC timber in all the projects being developed by the Group. In addition, BAM will push for the use of FSC timber in orders involving third parties. Timber with the internationally recognised FSC mark meets the most stringent requirements in terms of nature-friendly socially and economically responsible forestry management. The covenant is to be signed on behalf of FSC Nederland by its director Sandra Mulder, while Nico de Vries, vice-chairman of the Executive Board, will sign for BAM.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 15 November 2007 – The relevant German ministries and Royal BAM Group have accepted an arrangement proposed by the Court in Bonn concerning the settlement of damages to the Schürmann Complex in Bonn incurred when the river Rhine overflowed its banks in December 1993. The Court has established the settlement today.

Liège/Brussels, Belgium, 12 November 2007 – Galère sa, an operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, has been awarded the contract for the restoration of four monumental facades of buildings on the Great Market by the municipality of Brussels. The project includes the facades of the buildings the Star, the Swan, In the Golden Tree and the Rose. Restoration activities are starting this month and will be completed in approximately six months. The contract value amounts to approximately € 900.000,-.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 9 November 2007 – BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group, specialising in non-residential building projects) won a contract for the construction of a football stadium in Augsburg and for a multi-functional sports complex in Ludwigsburg. The joint contract value is over €85 million.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 9 November 2007 - The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed J.F.M. Al managing director of BAM Techniek with effect from 1 December 2007. Jan Al (52) has a broad management experience in the M&E engineering sector and was recently an independent consultant and interim manager. Mr Al will succeed Rick van Harn, the current chairman of the management of BAM Techniek, who will retire as per mid 2008.

BAM Civiel has used almost four hundred tree trunks as facade cladding for a car park for the Elkerliek Hospital near Eindhoven. The half-submerged car park is on three levels and has 520 parking places.

London, 16 October 2007 - An 'Excellent' BREEAM rating has been awarded to IVG UK's 46,400 sq ft Interpoint office making it the only speculative Edinburgh office development completing in 2007 and 2008 that will achieve this exceptional standard. The building is being developed by HBG Properties.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Soccer City during a two-day visit to South Africa. It is considered to be the most important stadium for the 2010 World Championships. Interbeton bv (the operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active outside Europe) is in the process of constructing the stadium in joint venture with the South-African construction company Grinaker-LTA.
