London, 2 October 2007 - Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust nominated its contractor HBG Construction as best healthcare contractor for the annual Building Better Healthcare awards for its work in constructing the prestigious Essex Cardiothoracic Centre at Basildon University Hospital.

Brussels (Neder-over-Heembeek), Belgium, 28 September 2007 – The Dialink consortium, consisting of CEI-De Meyer and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau (both Royal BAM Group operating companies), as well as CFE, Vinci Construction Grands Projets and Smet Tunneling, was awarded the contract to construct the Diabolo heavy rail system in Zaventem, Belgium, today. Clients are nv Northern Diabolo, serving as the special purpose vehicle (SPV) organisation for the railway infrastructure, and nv Via-Zaventem, as the SPV for the road infrastructure. The contract value amounts to over €300 million, half of which was awarded to BAM. The project is initiated by Infrabel, the manager of the Belgian railway infrastructure.

This spring, while restoring the tombstonecovered floors of the Grote Kerk (Main Church) in The Hague, BAM’s restoration specialist Schakel & Schrale came across a large number of crypts, probably dating from the seventeenth century.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 25 September 2007 – Royal BAM Group nv has reached agreement about the sale of the US operating company Flatiron Construction Corp. to Hochtief AG in Essen, Germany. Both the Supervisory Board of Hochtief and the Supervisory Board of BAM have lent their approval to the transaction.

BAM subsidiary Nootenboom Sport products is creating a rolling landscape for the Liemeer Golf and Country Club in central Netherlands. The eighteen-hole golf course will be completed in stages on former agricultural land.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 14 September 2007 – Royal BAM Group nv has acquired all the shares of Belgian civil engineering company Betonac nv, based in Sint-Truiden. The transaction, which was announced early August, has been fully completed.

Bunnik, 11 September 2007 - HBG has been selected by the developers and landowners of King’s Cross Central as the Design and Build Contractor for the Eastern Goods Yard site following a two-stage tender process. The value of the work is expected to be £150m. The project will result in the delivery of the first buildings on the site of the largest urban regeneration project in Europe.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 30 August 2007 – HBG Properties Ltd (the property development arm of HBG UK, an operating company of Royal BAM Group) has sold eight office properties within its portfolio to investor IVG Immobilien AG for £146 million (approximately € 215 million).

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 29 August 2007 – The negotiations about the possible sale of the US operating company Flatiron Construction Corp., based in Longmont, Colorado (as announced by Royal BAM Group in May) make good progress. These negotiations will not lead to conclusions – as was also announced – by the end of August, but in September.

Just for once pupils of the Radyclyffe Primary School in Salford (Manchester) were allowed on the building site near their school. Here, at Salford Quays, HBG builds the six-storey Metro office building. HBG invited the children to receive the prizes for the best safety posters they had made.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 17 August 2007 – HBG Construction Ltd has been officially appointed to construct the new £90m Mann Island development in Liverpool city centre, for clients Neptune Developments and Countryside Properties. Work will start in September 2007 with full completion expected in December 2010.

HBG Construction is in the process of redeveloping 55 Baker Street, London W1 for client London and Regional Properties Ltd. The project has a total value of circa £115 million.

Bunnik, 6 August 2007 – The Royal BAM Group has reached agreement on the acquisition of all the shares of Belgian infrastructure builder Betonac nv, based in Sint-Truiden. The shares are owned by the management. The transaction is expected to be finalised within the next few weeks.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 24 July 2007 – The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Siegfried Currle director (Vorstandsmitglied) of BAM Deutschland AG with effect from 1 August 2007. Mr Currle (53) was chairman of the management of the German construction company Wolf & Müller GmbH & Co. KG, based at Stuttgart. The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group and the current management board of BAM Deutschland are strengthening the company’s management in the light of further growth.
