Bunnik, Netherlands, 30 May 2008 - BAM Rail (the subsidiary of Royal BAM Group specialised in rail-related services) has been granted a contract from Siemens as a subcontractor for the construction of a tram line in Edinburgh, the United Kingdom. The contract includes the construction of nine kilometres of double-track tram line in the centre of Edinburgh as well as ten kilometres in the direction of the suburbs and the airport to the west of the Scottish capital. The total building costs amount to approximately € 40 million.

The Netherlands is the land of dikes and cyclists. Cyclists usually have access to dedicated cycle paths, but there is no room for such paths on this narrow dike. However, their needs have been catered for in the form of bicycle lanes in a different colour.

(Press release Government Buildings Agency:) The Hague, 23 May 2008 - The Government Buildings Agency (GBA) has reached an agreement with the JuBi building consortium (made up of BAM, Ballast Nedam, Homij and Imtech) regarding the construction of the new headquarters for the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Together, the new ministry headquarters will be the largest government building in the Netherlands, with a total of 124,696 m2, not including commercial and technical areas.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 7 May 2008 - Three operating companies of Royal BAM Group, namely CEI-De Meyer, Galère and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, have won a contract in joint venture with Jan De Nul and Franki Geotechnics for the construction of the Schuman-Josaphat rail link in Brussels.
