Bunnik, The Netherlands, 17 December 2009 - A 50/50 joint venture between BAM Nuttall Ltd and Taylor Woodrow (part of VINCI Construction UK) has been awarded a contract in the region of £250 million by Transport for London (TfL) to upgrade Tottenham Court Road tube station.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 14 December 2009 - Investor DIF (Dutch Infrastructure Fund) has acquired the final 50 per cent of the shares in the joint venture with BAM PPP. This joint venture was established in December 2007 and has four operational UK PPP projects in its portfolio. BAM PPP remains as the management services provider to all four concessions. The final divestment of 50 per cent by BAM PPP results in a book profit for BAM of more than €9 million.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 8 December 2009 - BAM Construction Ltd has been awarded the contract to realise Network Rail's new national centre in Milton Keynes (situated eighty kilometre north of London). The contract value for BAM Construction is in excess of €75 million (£75 million). Network Rail's national centre will house up to 3,000 employees. The proposed building is scheduled to open in 2012. It will be located near Milton Keynes' central railway station on the site of the former National Hockey Stadium.

(Press release Leeds City Council:) Leeds, 2 December 2009 - A project to renovate and conserve one of the oldest music halls in the country, the Leeds City Varieties, moves forward this week as it is 'handed over' to construction contractors. Over the coming weeks, builders will prepare to start work on a major refurbishment project to bring the music hall back to its former glory. Designs are based, as far as possible, on the building as it was in the late 19th century.

Loorbach and Mr H. de Pater (finance) as directors of AM Vastgoedontwikkeling bv with effect from 1 January 2010 (following the intended merger of AM and BAM Vastgoed).

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 30 November 2009 - Canton Bern has reached financial close with BAM Deutschland AG and Marti Generalunternehmung AG (in consortium with BAM PPP) for its PPP project 'Neumatt - Cantonal Administration Center Burgdorf' (formerly 'Zeughausareal Burgdorf'). The project is the first Public Private Partnership project in Switzerland to be based on international project finance standards. The project encompasses the demolition of the old buildings, as well as planning, financing, construction and operation of the new 'Neumatt - Cantonal Administration Center Burgdorf'. This will include three planning units, a prison (110 beds), a street inspection office including an operation center and finally an administration center.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 20 November 2009 - Galère (operating companies of Royal BAM Group nv) – has been awarded a joint-venture contract for the construction of the new Pulvermühle railway viaduct in the City of Luxembourg. The project value amounts to €56 million, of which €22 million for BAM. Client is the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL). The construction period will be approximately six years.

Bunnik, Netherlands, 20 November 2009 - The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv announces that Mr P.G.A. Noordanus, chairman of the management of AM Vastgoedontwikkeling, and Mr. R.D.L. van Steeg, director of AM Vastgoedontwikkeling, have expressed the wish to leave the company with effect from year-end 2009.

(Press release The National Galleries of Scotland:) Edinburgh, 10 November 2009 - The National Galleries of Scotland is delighted to announce a £2 million boost to its Portrait of the Nation project, the ambitious scheme that will transform the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (SNPG) over the next two years. News of this generous award, which has been made by The Monument Trust, a Sainsbury Family Charitable Trust, comes in the week that building contractors moved into the Gallery, and work began in earnest on the refurbishment.

The Hague, the Netherlands, 29 October 2009 - Tebodin is the first foreign company in China to receive both an 'engineering license class B for chemical engineering' and an 'engineering license class C for buildings'. Now that Tebodin Asia Pacific has obtained these licenses, the Shanghai-based office can execute EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects without the assistance of third parties. Preliminary design packages and detail design packages can be realized as well.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 22 October 2009 – The, in august 2009 reported, project of Ghent University for design, build, finance and maintenance (DBFM) of approximately 650 student apartments and an underground parking, as well as redevelopment of the university restaurant, has reached contractual and financial close. The project Kantienberg has a value of approximately €100 million for BAM.

Hemel Hempstead, Herts, 22 October 2009 - Philip Rowley has been appointed as BAM Construct UK's Director of Health and Safety with immediate effect following the retirement of Frank Garnett. His role covers all the UK construction activities as well as BAM's other businesses such as facilities management and property. Philip Rowley will succeed Frank Garnett in representing BAM at industry level. He has had a distinguished career in construction management having been the overall CIOB Construction Manager of the Year in 1998. He is now one of the CIOB judges for the prestigious awards.

Congratulations are also in order to the teams at the Dounreay Shaft Isolation project and Liverpool Canal Link who picked up the Civil Engineering and Regeneration Awards.
