20 October 2010 - The State of Lower Saxony represented by the Ministry of Justice and BAM PPP, together with Royal BAM Group companies BAM Deutschland and Müller-Altvatter Gebäudemanagement, have signed the contracts for the States first PPP project to design, build, finance, maintain and operate the €50.5 million prison project in the City of Bremervoerde.

Hemel Hempstead, 14 October 2010 - The leading construction company under the Construction Manager of the Year Awards says that construction managers and professionals are under-valued by the UK. Professional management skills in the construction sector are under-recognised, says the firm which had the best management record in sector's annual awards (see table in notes), taking place on Thursday 14 October.

BAM Construction has been appointed to build a new £10 million Software Centre in Sunderland. The 4,900 sq m (53,000 sq ft) development would include space for 60 cutting-edge businesses, as well as exhibition space, showing visitors in a fun and interactive way the role software plays in their lives. It is designed to be a centerpiece for Sunderland Software City, the regional initiative inspiring and supporting the growth of the local software industry. Subject to planning permissions, work on the building could begin early next year and be completed in early 2012.

Mr Michael Finneran, T D, Minister for Housing and Local Services officially opened the new Wastewater Treatment Plant in Wicklow Town, Ireland. The civils element of this DBO project was designed and built by BAM Civil and involved the construction of a new treatment plant at Knockrobin, new pumping stations at Ashford and Rathnew and the upgrading of the pumping station at the Murrough.

UNICEF is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. UNICEF is actively involved in many projects for the welfare of children in over 155 countries.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 7 October 2010 - BAM Clough joint venture has received an additional Letter of Intent from Chiyoda JGC Joint Venture for the fabrication and construction of the topsides for the PNG LNG condensate offloading jetty. The contract for the design and construction of the jetty has been formally signed recently. The second contract is valued at approximately US$53 million, bringing the total value of contracts awarded to BAM Clough for the PNG LNG jetty project to US$308 million.

6 October 2010 - BAM Properties has let its development in Buchanan Street, Glasgow to Nike. The leading global sports brand has secured its target of a flagship store on Buchanan Street. Opening is scheduled for Spring 2011. Nike has taken the property on institutional terms as befits the strength of the location.

The combined contract value is approximately £80 million. It builds on the contractor's strong position in the area and in the education sector.

Utrecht/Bunnik, The Netherlands, 1 October 2010 – The Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) and BAM signed the contract for the A12 Motorway on 2 July 2010 to design, build, finance and maintain (DBFM) the widening of the thirty kilometre long section of the A12 motorway between Utrecht-Lunetten and Veenendaal and have reached Financial Close on 23 September 2010.
