Hemel Hempstead, 29 November 2011 - BAM Construction and architects Aedas have secured a contract to design and build Network Rail's new flagship rail operating centre (ROC) and training facility in York. The ROC, located on the Engineers Triangle, will be one of just 14 proposed centres across Great Britain and will eventually coordinate and control all rail operations on the London North Eastern route. The training centre will consolidate services already provided at several different locations into a single, purpose-built facility.

Camberley, November 2011 - Essential safety works on the northbound Blackwall Tunnel have been completed over a year ahead of schedule. As a result overnight closures will end and motorists will regain full use of the tunnel from 11 November.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 17 November 2011 – On the subject of the appointment of a new chairman of the Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv the general meeting of shareholders of 20 April 2011 decided to extend the term of appointment of the current chairman of the Board Mr W.K. Wiechers, by one year. With effect from today the Supervisory Board has appointed Mr P.A.F.W. Elverding as successor of Mr Wiechers as the chairman of the Board. Mr Wiechers will continue his membership of the Supervisory Board until after the general meeting of shareholders of 25 April 2012.

Hemel Hempstead, 15 November 2011 - BAM Properties has sold the final part of its £37 million retail development on Buchanan Street, Glasgow, to a client of La Salle Investment Management (LIM) for £24.5 million reflecting a yield of 5%.

Hemel Hempstead, 14 November 2011 -  BAM Construction has won the contract to deliver the new £22 million Aylesbury Vale Academy in Buckinghamshire. The project is the second win for BAM under the Partnership for School’s (PfS) national framework in the South East, which saw BAM secure the Medway Academies last year.

The £10.4 million striking, mixed-use community building spans over a dual carriageway and represents the first phase of the proposed major regeneration of the inner city Somerstown area by Portsmouth City Council.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 10 November 2011 – Acting on behalf of the German Institute for Federal Real Estate (the Bundesanstalt für Immoblienausgaben), a joint venture led by BAM Deutschland AG and Amber GmbH has been commissioned to construct the new Federal Ministry of Education and Research building in Berlin. The contract for the design, construction, financing and maintenance (for thirty years) has a value of almost €175 million for BAM.

Hemel Hempstead, 8 November 2011 - BAM Construction – which last year opened its own dedicated offices in Bridgwater – has confirmed that the Bridgwater schools project is running to schedule as it prepares to hand-over Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre tomorrow. The Centre is the first completed part of the £50 million education build across Bridgwater.
