Bunnik, The Netherlands, 22 December 2011 – Royal BAM Group has sold its 21.5% interest in dredging company Van Oord, with effect from today, to a consortium formed by the Belgian investment company Cobepa and the Dutch investment companies Janivo, Breedinvest and Rinkelberg. The purchase price is €200 million. As a consequence of guarantees in the sale agreement, BAM is taking a provision in the year ending 31 December 2011 to cover the maximum risk of €15 million. The provision relates to future dividends payable by Van Oord over the next five years. Net of this provision, the transaction has no material impact on BAM’s previously announced forecast that the Group will make a net profit of €120 million for the financial year 2011.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 15 December 2011 – A Kier BAM joint venture has been named preferred bidder by EDF Energy to carry out a £100 milion plus contract for site preparation works for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 14 December 2011 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has been awarded a contract to construct a new port in Jordan, approximately 15 miles south of Aqaba, close to the border of Saudi Arabia. Client is Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC). The contract value for BAM amounts to approximately €50 million. The construction of the new port will take 24 months, starting January 2012.

Hemel Hempstead, 9 December 2011 - A £2.7 million contract for the major refurbishment of a care home in Plymouth has been won by BAM Construction. The contractor will use several local firms to help it carry out a comprehensive renovation of the vacant Nazareth House facility on Durnford Street.

Hemel Hempstead, 6 December 2011 - BAM Construction has been appointed as preferred bidder to build a £15 million National Operations Centre for Scottish Water. The contractor would deliver an ultra sustainable new build office with a new Intelligent Control Centre and Data Centre at Stepps, near Glasgow for the utilities organisation.

Hemel Hempstead, 2 December 2011 - BAM Construction has been awarded the contract to deliver Hackney University Technical College; London’s first ever UTC. The contractor will refurbish, fit out and extend an existing building as well as creating additional space within the Hackney Community College campus, to create a state-of-the-art facility for the new UTC.
