Kill, County Kildare, Ireland, 13 July 2011 – Mayor of Kerry, Councillor Pat Leahy, and Brian Cunningham, BAM Civil director, have signed the contract for the N22 Tralee Bypass Road Improvement Scheme on Friday 24 June. This €97 million bypass connecting the N21, N22, N69 and N70 involves the construction of 8 km of dual carriageway to the East of Tralee and 5.5 km single carriageway link road from the bypass to the N22 Killarney Road.

Hemel Hempstead, 5 July 2011 - Design work on two school projects will be subject of intensive evaluation as part of a government bid to make all non-domestic buildings carbon-neutral by 2019. BAM Construct UK has won environmental impact funding from the Government’s Technology Strategy Board for non-housing projects. The two projects the firm will evaluate are St Peter’s School in Glasgow and Cressex Community School in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

(Press release University of Nottingham:)  Nottingham, 6 July 2011 - Construction is due to start on a new 200-bed upmarket hotel at The University of Nottingham. With planning permission already in place, the University’s Council have now given approval for the £20 million eco-friendly hotel, which will be built on University Park, adjacent to the East Midlands Conference Centre. The hotel, which will be funded entirely by the University, will be available for use by conference delegates, university visitors, local businesses and the general public.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 1 July 2011 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has been awarded a contract for the extension of a wharf for Aqaba Container Terminal (a joint venture of Aqaba Development Corporation and APM Terminals) in Jordan. In addition BAM International has won a contract for the design and construction of a 600-metre quay wall for a container terminal in Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia. BAM Infraconsult will be responsible for the design. Client is APM Terminals. The contract value for BAM for both projects totals to approximately €85 million.
