Hemel Hempstead, 11 November 2011 – BAM Design has secured full planning approval for the ‘The Hub’ in Portsmouth. The £10.4 million striking, mixed-use community building spans over a dual carriageway and represents the first phase of the proposed major regeneration of the inner city Somerstown area by Portsmouth City Council.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 10 November 2011 – Acting on behalf of the German Institute for Federal Real Estate (the Bundesanstalt für Immoblienausgaben), a joint venture led by BAM Deutschland AG and Amber GmbH has been commissioned to construct the new Federal Ministry of Education and Research building in Berlin. The contract for the design, construction, financing and maintenance (for thirty years) has a value of almost €175 million for BAM.

Hemel Hempstead, 8 November 2011 - BAM Construction – which last year opened its own dedicated offices in Bridgwater – has confirmed that the Bridgwater schools project is running to schedule as it prepares to hand-over Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre tomorrow. The Centre is the first completed part of the £50 million education build across Bridgwater.

  • Carolien Gehrels, Vice Mayor of Amsterdam; Dertje Meijer, President and CEO of the Port of Amsterdam; and Eelco Hoekstra, Chairman of the Vopak Executive Board, officially open Vopak Terminal Amsterdam Westpoort.
  • The terminal facilitates the growing demand for storage capacity for oil products in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region.
  • The terminal has an initial storage capacity of 620,000 cubic meters and has been delivered on time and within budget. After completion of additional storage capacity of 570,000 cubic meters in phases up to the third quarter of 2012, the storage capacity will increase to nearly 1.2 million cubic meters.

(Press release BAM, Hitachi Zosen Inova and SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT:) Roosendaal, the Netherlands, 14 October 2011 - Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, opened SITA’s ReEnergy waste-to-energy plant in Roosendaal today. He did this alongside Gérard Mestrallet, Chairman and CEO of GDF SUEZ; Christophe Cros, who is responsible for the environment-related activities of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT and is CEO of SITA France; and Adriaan Visser, CEO of SITA Benelux and Germany. The ReEnergy plant is one of the most modern waste-to-energy plants in Europe.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 3 October 2011 - BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has together with the Danish contractor Per Aarsleff won an extension for a road contract in Tanzania. The value of the new contract is €38.5 million.

The Hague, the Netherlands, 30 September 2011 - Tebodin has been awarded a long-term framework agreement for plant changes in Belgium by chemical company BASF. This is the third framework agreement between Tebodin Belgium and BASF Antwerpen which concerns 54 plants in Antwerpen.

Hemel Hempstead, 27 September 2011 - The firm behind the £5.2 million Culture Fusion project in Bradford is preparing to hand over the new building to the YMCA for use by the area’s young people. The project – located on Thornton Road – takes turnover by design and build contractor BAM Construction to over £50 million from its last seven projects built in Bradford. These include three schools, a university facility, Bradford Academy, a college and two community buildings.

Hemel Hempstead, 27 September 2011 - BAM extends its range of work in Newcastle to build an extension at Newcastle International Airport. BAM is to start work next month on the main feature of a £3.2 million expansion of the North-East’s largest airport. The development will create additional space and improve customers’ passage through Newcastle International Airport. BAM Construction Ltd is the main design and build contractor and will work with various consultants to complete the extension. North-East company Space Architecture is designing the new building.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 15 September 2011 – The Municipal Port Authority of Antwerp has commissioned a joint venture, consisting of the five companies Jan De Nul (1/3), CEI-De Meyer and Betonac (which both form part of Royal BAM Group; 1/3) and Herbosch-Kiere and Antwerpse Bouwwerken (which both form part of Eiffage; 1/3) to construct a second lock in the Waaslandhaven on the left bank of the River Scheldt. The contract value is in excess of €272 million, excluding VAT.

The Hague, the Netherlands, 7 September 2011 – On behalf of Neinver, Tebodin Poland has successfully carried out a BREEAM certification process for the commercial park FUTURA Park Kraków, located in Modlniczka. This is the first BREEAM certificate Tebodin has realized.

London, 6 September 2011 - JCC Ventures Ltd has appointed BAM Construction to build London’s first purpose-built Jewish Community Centre. BAM won the main construction contract for this £25 million state-of-the-art building project at the beginning of August and has already started work on site.
