Bunnik, the Netherlands, 1 July 2011 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has been awarded a contract for the extension of a wharf for Aqaba Container Terminal (a joint venture of Aqaba Development Corporation and APM Terminals) in Jordan. In addition BAM International has won a contract for the design and construction of a 600-metre quay wall for a container terminal in Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia. BAM Infraconsult will be responsible for the design. Client is APM Terminals. The contract value for BAM for both projects totals to approximately €85 million.

Bunnik (the Netherlands) - Beveren/Dendermonde (Belgium), 28 June 2011 – The Belgium Buildings Agency (Regie der Gebouwen/Régie des Bâtiments) and BAM PPP have reached financial close on the  contracts for the provision of two prisons in Beveren and Dendermonde, which will house 312 and 444 inmates respectively. The two projects have a joint construction value of more than €160 million.

Hemel Hempstead, 23 June 2011 - BAM Construct UK has reached its target for halving waste to landfill two years early. Construction waste production relative to turnover was down for the fifth year running. In 2008 BAM adopted the WRAP target of halving waste to landfill by 2012. In 2010 it exceeded this target two years ahead of schedule,   BAM now has a diversion rate from landfill of 85%.

This charter (the Encord Sustainable Development Charter) was ratified by Executives of the companies concerned at a meeting held today in the Kröller-Möller museum.

Hemel Hempstead, 20 June 2011 - It took her only an hour to draw, but the nature garden designed by eight-year-old Emma Deadman at St Phillips Primary School in Cambridgeshire took contractor BAM three days of hard but charitable labour to build. And it has established her as Britain’s youngest ever landscape gardener.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 16 June 2011 - BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has won a contract for the construction of an offshore mooring structure outside Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Indonesia. The contract value for the construction amounts to € 16 million. The facility will be handed over to client Golar LNG Energy and affiliates in December 2011.

The Hague, the Netherlands, 14 June 2011 - Tebodin Consultants & Engineers has established the first office in Indonesia. With this new office, located in Jakarta, the company enters another country to offer consultancy and engineering services. Tebodin Indonesia is the latest addition to the global Tebodin network consisting of approximately 50 offices in 20 countries. It is the fourth office of Tebodin in the Asia Pacific region.

(Press release 5D Initiative:) Stuttgart, Germany, 21 April 2011 - The 5D Initiative, which was established by Ballast Nedam, Royal BAM Group, Consolidated Contractors Group S.A.L. - Offshore (CCC), Max Bögl and Strabag, today announced that collaboration with Autodesk, Bentley, CCT, RIB and Tekla is moving forward to incorporate pragmatic requirements for a 5Di solution, which is the amplification of BIM solutions for contractors to ensure higher process integration from very early design, engineering, fabrication and construction to operation & maintenance. The 5D Initiative was launched in 2008 with the goal of describing common requirements of the European construction industry for the development of new innovative tools by the hard and software industry. Since 2008, the 5D Initiative has had several discussions with Autodesk, Bentley, CCT, RIB and Tekla to recognize and analyze the requirements of the more advanced and fully-integrated 5D solutions. Based on the shared requirements from the 5D Initiative and the strategic discussions so far, Autodesk, Bentley, CCT, RIB, Tekla and the 5D Initiative have reached a common understanding about BIM for construction. This led to a plan for taking the existing cooperation to the next level with the goal of fulfilling needs of construction process integration in construction practice.
