Bunnik, The Netherlands, 13 December 2012 - Network Rail has appointed BAM Nuttall Ltd as main contractor for the delivery of the new Borders Railway. The €270 million (£220 million) contract includes detailed design and construction works for the new line, which will enter service in 2015 and will re-establish a passenger rail link for the first time in over 40 years from Edinburgh through Midlothian to Tweedbank.

Hemel Hempstead, 13 December 2012 - BAM Construction is to construct an iconic building, to include community, youth and health facilities, in the Somerstown area of Portsmouth. The contractor has started work on the landmark tubular structure, which spans a main road, for Portsmouth City Council. This first phase of the regeneration scheme is due for completion in March 2014.

Hemel Hempstead, 28 November 2012 - BAM Construction in the Midlands has been selected as preferred bidder for a £12 million redevelopment of East Midlands Airport. The contractor, which has offices in Derby, will build a new security hall and queuing space for the airport terminal, which will increase the size of the terminal by 1,375 square metres and remodel the retail area in the departure lounge.

(Press release London Legacy Development Corporation:) London, 27 November 2012 - The London Legacy Development Corporation and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) today marked the handover of the Olympic Park to the Legacy Corporation by removing the final piece of outer shell from the temporary seating stands at the Aquatics Centre.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 26 November 2012 - BAM Deutschland AG (the German non-residential building company of Royal BAM Group nv) has won two contracts for the construction of the IT center for the City of Munich (contract value over € 63 million) and for a PPP school in Frankfurt am Main (contract value more than € 20 million).

Hemel Hempstead, 22 November 2012 - Just two months after it handed over the new Stafford College its contractor, BAM Construction, has revealed the environmental and economic impact of the scheme. Around 60% of the orders generated by BAM’s work on the £14million development were placed with firms within a 30-mile radius.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 13 November 2012 - BAM International - the operating construction company of Royal BAM Group that is active outside Europe - has received a letter of acceptance from African Minerals Ltd for the design and construction of a fuel unloading and layover facility in Pepel, Sierra Leone. The value of the contract amounts to more than €13 million. BAM and joint venture partner Stefanutti Stocks expect to hand over the jetty to the client within five months.

Kildare, Ireland, 12 November 2012 - BAM PPP PGGM Infrastructure Cooperatie, BAM’s investment joint venture with Dutch pension fund administrator PGGM, together with BAM Contractors Ltd has signed a schools public private partnership (PPP) contract with the National Development Finance Agency, on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills, for the design, build, finance and maintenance of the Schools Bundle 3 contract.

(Press release European Investment Bank:) 12 November 2012 - The Minister for Education and Skills warmly welcomed the start of construction today (Monday 12th November) of eight schools which are being delivered under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. These are the first public sector projects to be funded under the PPP model since June 2010.

Hemel Hemstead, 9 November 2012 - Over 120,000 bricks dating back to 1882 have been rescued during the construction of a new primary school in Ealing, London. The new ARK Academy Primary school is being built by contractor BAM Construction. As part of its commitment to sustainability, BAM commissioned a pre-demolition reclamation survey, because the new school is being built on the site of the old one.

Five major West Country projects, worth over £100 million, have had their considerate performance recognised in a national initiative to improve the image of construction.

Bunnik / Gouda, 5 November 2012 - The Rijkswaterstaat Centre for Corporate Services has commissioned BAM Utiliteitsbouw and technical services provider Imtech for the maintenance of approximately 400 properties (district offices, support points, sheds and salt sheds) at some 150 locations throughout the Netherlands. The contract has a term of four years with the option of two one-year renewals. Representing a total contract value for BAM and Imtech of more than €20 million, it is one of the largest contracts for constructural and technical maintenance and management in the Netherlands.

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 2 November 2012 – On 2 November BAM Utiliteitsbouw bv was awarded the contract by the Eindhoven University of Technology for the construction of a new building for the Departments of Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering (Project 2). The engineer-and-build contract has a value of around €40 million.
