Cork, 26 October 2012 - City Gate Park, with 300,000 square feet of business and retail buildings at Cork’s Mahon constructed by BAM Contractors, has officially opened for business. This week saw the official opening by Taoiseach Enda Kenny of the Dell/Quest building, with 180 employees relocating to the stunning location. With €50 million spent to shell and core level, City Gate Park is designed to attract top level corporate firms. The hub has scope for over 1,500 jobs in buildings with ‘green’ energy credentials including 36% energy savings.

Hemel Hempstead, 18 October 2012 - BAM Construct UK Ltd has appointed Andrew Pryke as the new Managing Director of its design business. Mr Pryke joins BAM from Capita Symonds where he was an architecture board member and oversaw the work of 275 staff in ten UK studios.

Hemel Hempstead, 16 October 2012 - BAM Construction is to use a hyper-local template for a £4.6 million free school building project in north London. The contractor will deliver the Kingfisher Hall primary school and nursery in Enfield Highway. Project manager Leo Amatino lives in Enfield, and aims to use as many suppliers, subcontractors and apprentices from the area as possible. The project architect, ACP, is also based in the town.

Hemel Hempstead, 8 October 2012 - BAM Construct UK is to build a £40 million extension to Morriston Hospital in Swansea. The contractor, which has offices in Cardiff, will deliver the 13,000 sq m new building for Abertawe Bro Mogannwg University Health Board. The three-storey extension will house renal dialysis, dental and x-ray departments among others, as well as housing an education centre to train Health Board staff including their post and undergraduate doctors.

Hemel Hempstead, 3 October 2012 - BAM will build a free school after its appointment by Boulevard Academy. BAM Construct UK has been chosen to build an £8 million free school on the site of the former Hull FC rugby stadium. The contractor will deliver the facility for the Boulevard Academy at the site on Airlie Street in the East Yorkshire city.
