Al Ain, United Arab Emirates / Gouda, the Netherlands, 26 June 2013 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group operating outside Europe, has achieved a major milestone in the design and build contract for a soccer stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The company has placed the last roof trestle of the 25,000-seat stadium, named Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, located in Al Ain (approximately 150 kilometres east of Abu Dhabi, close to the borders of Oman) and has started the cladding. BAM started the project in mid-2012 and the stadium is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2013, after a record construction time of 16 months.

Juni 2013 - Den Zuschlag als Generalübernehmer für den Komplettumbau des Stadions an der Gellertstraße soll die Bietergemeinschaft BAM Sports GmbH Düsseldorf und BAM Deutschland AG Stuttgart erhalten. Es handelt sich um ein renommiertes Unternehmen, das beim Stadionbau – speziell beim Bau während des laufenden Spielbetriebs – große Erfahrungen besitzt. BAM zeichnete unter anderem für die Stadien in Dresden, Hannover, Mainz, Gelsenkirchen oder Rostock verantwortlich.

Public art in Kings Cross development

Hemel Hempstead, 21 June 2013 - BAM Construction helped renowned sculpture artist Maurice Blik – who survived Bergen-Belsen as a boy and who holds a dual British/Dutch passport – to unveil his specially commissioned work at the Kings Cross development known as Regent Quarter. The two part piece ‘About Face’ features two opposing faces; a bronzed beaten male face gazing up at a gold-leaf female. The lighter face weighs 450 kg and was clamped through the wall onto the stairwell using bespoke fixings.

Hemel Hempstead, 20 June 2013 - The company building Portsmouth’s innovative Somerstown Hub – BAM Construction – has revealed that 87% of the orders for the recently completed Havant Academy were placed with local companies, as its work within the Hampshire area exceeds £300 million over the past twelve years.

Bristol’s Aztec West development sold

Hemel Hempstead, 20 June 2013 - BAM Properties has sold its 930 Aztec West development in Bristol. The sale follows BAM letting the whole building to technology firm NVidia, in May. It has been bought by investment and asset management company Threadneedle UK Property Trust. The transaction is expected to complete on the first day of August.

NIA redevelopment

Birmingham, 31 May 2013 - Work on the £26 million redevelopment of Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena (NIA) will commence in June 2013, following the appointment of contractor BAM Construction. The transformation of the NIA will provide an improved and enhanced experience – the next generation of arena – to promoters, artists, visitors and the city of Birmingham.

Calverley Building

Hemel Hempstead, 7 June 2013 – BAM Construction is to refurbish the 10-storey Calverley Building for Leeds Metropolitan University. The contractor, which has offices in the Yorkshire city, will modernise the 1970s teaching block. Works under the £6.3 million contract will include replacing windows; cleaning the concrete façade; upgrading plant and services; and creating a more open-plan learning environment.

Utrecht, the Netherlands, 3 June 2013 - ProRail has awarded the U-centRaal joint venture, consisting of BAM Rail and VolkerRail, the contract for the improvement of the flow of trains around the Utrecht Centraal station. The project focuses specifically on the expansion of the reliability of the railway, less malfunctions and space for more trains. The engagement fee amounts to over € 140 million. U-centRaal will complete this project in 2016.
