(Press release Wirral Council:) Wirral, 29 January 2014 - Wirral Council has awarded its Highway Services contract from 2014-18 to BAM Nuttall, subject to signing of the agreed contract. This will replace the existing contract with Colas Ltd that ends in March this year and which was valued at £30 – £33 million.

BAM completes ultra-fast track FIFA-standard stadium in Abu Dhabi

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 January 2014 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe, has completed the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, after a 16-month ultra-fast track construction project. Built to FIFA standards, the stadium covers an area of 45,000 square metres with a capacity of 25,000 seats. The scope of the project further included a sports hall, commercial buildings and extensive exterior landscaping.

School of veterinary medicine for University of Surrey

Hemel Hempstead, 23 January 2014 - BAM Construction is to build a £29 million school of veterinary medicine for the University of Surrey. The contractor will deliver three buildings on the university’s Guildford campus that will allow teaching of veterinary medicine as well as clinical research.

Hemel Hempstead, 20 January 2014 - BAM Construction is to build a significant new office block for Cornwall Council in Bodmin. The contractor, which has a local office in Exeter, will create the three-storey building for council staff at Beacon Technology Park.

Bunnik, 21 January 2014 – BAM Techniek (the Dutch operating company of Royal BAM Group nv specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering) and the joint venture partner BAM Deutschland has won a € 6 million contract for the installation of sanitary facilities in a hospital in Heilbronn, located between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. BAM Techniek will carry out the work in cooperation with BAM Deutschland, which is responsible for constructing the concrete works for the healthcare complex.

Construction and infrastructure parties sign ‘Safety in Construction’ Governance Code

Utrecht, the Netherlands, 16 January 2014 – On 16 January, fifteen major players in the construction, infrastructure and electrical and mechanical engineering sector signed the ‘Safety in Construction’ Governance Code, during a meeting attended by Stef Blok (Minister for Housing and the Central Government Sector) and Tjibbe Joustra (Chairman of the Dutch Safety Board). Clients and contractors pledged to work together to improve the safety culture within their own organisations and serve as an example for the entire sector.
