Hemel Hempstead, 29 August 2014 - BAM Construction is working on a £28 million commercial project in central London. The contractor, which has offices in the capital, was awarded a pre-construction services agreement by developer Great Portland Estates for St. Lawrence House in Soho.

BAM to start new primary school in South Gloucestershire

Hemel Hempstead, 28 August 2014 - BAM is to build a primary school on the site of King's Oak Academy in South Gloucestershire. Located alongside the existing secondary school, the new 1,953 sq m primary school will have capacity for 420 pupils aged 4 to 11. They will benefit from modern learning spaces as well as improved sports facilities for both primary and secondary pupils.

BAM to build Derby Manufacturing UTC

Derby, 27 August 2014 - Work is due to start on the development of the campus for Derby Manufacturing University Technical College (UTC) following the granting of planning permission by Derby City Council. BAM Construct UK will build the £8 million centre which has been designed by Maber Architects.

(Press release Argent / Porphyrios Associates:) London, 22 August 2014 - Developer Argent has announced that the designs for the newest office development at King’s Cross have been approved by Camden Council. Three Pancras Square, designed by Porphyrios Associates, is an eleven storey building occupying a prominent position on the King’s Cross development. The building will be largely office space (160,000 sq ft) with shops and restaurants at ground level (13,000 sq ft).

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 13 August 2014 – The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has awarded BAM Danmark a contract for the construction of office 345C on the campus of DTU in Kongens Lyngby, fifteen kilometers north of Copenhagen. The contract value is approximately € 4.5 million. It is BAM’s first non-residential building contract in Denmark.

Xbloc application on Reunion Island

Gouda, the Netherlands, 25 Augustus 2014 - BAM Infraconsult bv (under its trade name Delta Marine Consultants) has signed a license agreement for the use of Xbloc for the construction of the new coastal road (Nouvelle route du littoral) on the French island La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. The license agreement has been signed with a joint venture of GTOI (part of Colas), SBTPC (part of Vinci) and Vinci Construction Terrassement.

Senior appointment at BAM FM

Hemel Hempstead, 22 August 2012 - BAM FM has appointed Simon Barnes as its head of Business Development. He takes up the newly created position which managing director Kath Fontana says is closely aligned to business development strategy within BAM FM. Simon Barnes, who has joined BAM FM from Mitie, will lead the business development team and has a background in developing and securing contracts across many different sectors.

  • Actions: preparation phase for cost reduction/restructuring (€100 million) and working capital improvement (€300 million) programmes nearly complete
  • Outlook: BAM expects a result before tax, impairments and restructuring charges for the full year of about €20 million

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 21 August 2014 – The Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv announces that Nico de Vries will hand over the chair of the Executive Board to Rob van Wingerden with effect from 1 October 2014. Mr De Vries (63) will retire after a career of 38 years with the Group, as of 1 April 2015.

Successful start of marine construction works on Aqaba LNG project in Jordan

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 12 August 2014 – BAM has successfully driven the first pile at the LNG jetty in Aqaba, Jordan. Together with its sister company BAM Contractors from Ireland and its Jordanian joint-venture partner MAG Engineering & Contracting Co. BAM International was awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the LNG jetty in November 2013. BAM Infraconsult is involved in the designing of the civil works. The project is proceeding as scheduled and the hand-over to Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) is expected in April 2015.

BAM wins joint venture contract for new sustainable district Tivoli in Brussels

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 12 August 2014 - Immo BAM, a subsidiary of BAM’s Belgian operation company CEI-De Meyer that specialises in project development, has won in joint venture (50/50) with property developer Pargesy,  the contract for realisation of Tivoli sustainable district in Brussels. The client is citydev.brussels, the organisation responsible for the urban renewal policies of Brussels. The contract value is more than € 95 million.

Hemel Hempstead, 4 August 2014 - A flagship construction project for Cornwall Council has been selected as a stand out project for its approach to health and safety – by two separate inspections. The new offices at the Beacon Technology Business Park in Bodmin emerged with a glowing report when the construction industry’s independent CCS body (Considerate Constructors’ Scheme) visited this month, scoring nine out of ten, placing it in the ‘exceptional’ category.

BAM chosen by Bradford to build new Advanced Technology Centre

Hemel Hempstead, 3 August 2014 - BAM is to build a £10 million Advanced Technologies Centre for Bradford College. The company will create the three-storey building across the road from the campus it is currently building for the college in the centre of the Yorkshire city.
