Work begins on new school

Kirkcaldy, 20 November 2014 - BAM Construction has commenced work on the last school to be delivered under the Building Fife’s Future Framework. Following on from the highly successful Dunfermline and Auchmuty High Schools which opened in 2012 and 2013, the new £21.5 million Viewforth High School is located on Windmill Road in Kirkcaldy and will accommodate 600 pupils and staff when completed in 2016.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 19 November 2014 – BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside of Europe, has been awarded the contract to construct the marine infrastructure works for phase 3 of the Al-Dabbiya oil field development by client  Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). BAM expects to complete this  €70 million project in September 2015.

BAM wins €100 million contract for extension campus Cambridge University

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 19 November 2014 - BAM Construct UK, the British building company of Royal BAM Group nv, has acquired a contract from University of Cambridge for the first phase of the North West Cambridge Development. The contract value is approximately €100 million (GBP 80 million).

(Press release Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport:) Shannon, Ireland, 18 November 2014 – Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Paschal Donohoe TD, this afternoon (Tuesday) officially opened the N7 Newlands Cross Upgrade scheme. The junction is one of the busiest in the country with approximately 80,000 vehicles passing through each day. The opening today means the removal of the last remaining traffic light between Cork and Belfast.

Leeds, 14 November 2014  - Contractors are more used to putting their minds to building hospitals, schools, universities and offices, than to naming guide dog puppies, but the BAM Construction's North East Sports & Social Club has raised £6,687.- in just over a year to name their very own guide dog pup.

BAM wins major contract for Dutch refugee centre

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 17 November 2014 - The Dutch Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) has awarded BAM the contract for the redevelopment and the multiannual management and maintenance of the refugee centre in Ter Apel (in the province Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands). This design, construction and maintenance contract has a value of approximately €75 million. The construction works will start in the spring of 2015. By applying prefabrication and fast construction methods the phased construction will take approximately two years. The maintenance period begins once the project is completed in December 2016.

Hemel Hempstead, 13 November 2014 - Contractors behind the newly opened Cambridge UTC (university technical college) have left behind more than a building, their project manager said today. The construction team for the £9million science-orientated building, led by project manager Toby Moakes, has hosted monthly visits from Cambridge Regional College’s construction students. The visits formed part of the students’ BTEC Higher Diploma Level 3 qualifications and allowed them to see in action a live construction project during each stage. One of them, Jake Kreps, stood out so much that he was taken on for a paid summer placement – which has now led to a permanent job and day release to study for a foundation degree in construction.

Hemel Hempstead, 13 November 2014 - The £12 million contract to create a brand new home for the North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College (NSETC) has been awarded to BAM Construction Ltd. The UK-wide construction company will build the three-storey campus at the Enterprise Area near junction 21 of the M5, north of Weston-super-Mare.

Artist impression new headoffice AXA Belgium

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 7 November 2014 - Interbuild nv – operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in Flanders and Brussels for non-residential and apartment projects – has won a joint venture contract for the construction of the new headoffice for AXA Belgium. The contract value is  approximately €40 million, half of this is for Interbuild. The joint venture is also responsible for the coordination of the technical installations.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 November 2014 - BAM Contractors, the Irish operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, and its joint venture partner FP McCann have been awarded the A26 dual carriageway contract for the Department for Regional Development in Northern Ireland. This design and build contract has a value of approximately € 48 million, which will be split equally between the JV partners.

BAM Construction to begin work on Burton & South Derbyshire University Technical College

Hemel Hemstead, 20 October 2014 - BAM Construction is to build an £8.6 million University Technical College in the East Midlands. The contractor, which has offices in Derby, will deliver the Burton and South Derbyshire UTC (BSD UTC) with the refurbishment of an annexe at Burton Town Hall, in addition to the construction of a new building on adjacent land.
