(Press release NHS Ayrshire & Arran:) Kilmarnock, 15 May 2014 - NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Chief Executive John Burns and Doug Keillor, Regional Director of contractors BAM Construction, met this week to sign the construction contract for the pioneering Building for Better Care programme. The formal signing session was a major milestone in the programme, which will see a new Emergency Department at University Hospital Ayr and two new Combined Assessment Units at Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse.

AM Real Estate Development sells Capgemini head office; triple A Building Utrecht

Utrecht, the Netherlands, 14 May 2014 – Real estate developer AM Real Estate Development has sold the new Capgemini (consultancy and IT services) head office in Leidsche Rijn Centrum Noord. The office building comprises 21,000 m2 of lettable floor space and is being rented in its entirety by Capgemini. DTZ Zadelhoff realised this transaction in cooperation with their colleagues of 3stone Real Estate.

BAM lets 25,000 sq ft to UTC Aerospace Systems at FORE business park, Solihull

Hemel Hempstead, 9 May 2014 - UTC Aerospace Systems, formerly Goodrich, has taken a new ten year lease comprising 25,652 sq ft within the FORE 1 offices Solihull, the most high profile office development in the M42 corridor. The letting represents the largest transaction for office space in Solihull and the M42 corridor for two years, since the letting of Eagle 3 to Virgin Media in early 2012. It is for the whole of FORE 1, created, designed and built by property and construction company BAM.

Project Start station Erasmus line awarded

The Hague, the Netherlands, 8 May 2014 - The contract for the design and construction of the The Hague Start station Erasmusline (HSE) has been awarded to BAM. HSE forms a new stop at The Hague Central Station, which is situated partly above and partly next to the bus platform. The station is designed by ZJA (Zwarts & Jansma Architects) in Amsterdam. BAM starts construction in the autumn and the new station will be completed in 2016. The city of The Hague and ProRail (responsible for the Dutch railway network) are working on this project together with public transport organisations RET, HTM and Haaglanden’s area council.

BAM to build petroleum jetty in Sierra Leone

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 May 2014 – BAM International and its South African joint-venture partner Stefanutti Stocks have been awarded the contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a petroleum jetty at the Kissy Oil Terminal of Freetown in Sierra Leone. It will take the joint venture approximately one year to design and complete the project for PetroJetty Ltd.

Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 1 May 2014 - Feyenoord Founders Consortium (FFC) welcomes the recommendation of the scouts, Messrs Wim van Sluis, Jos van der Vegt and Hans Vervat, for the development of a renewed stadium for Feyenoord. After an extensive selection process, the scouts have given the client, Stichting 1 Feyenoord (representatives of BVO Feyenoord, Stadion Feijenoord N.V., Sportclub Feyenoord and supporters), the final recommendation to achieve the radical renovation of the current stadium with Feyenoord Founders Consortium as partner, based on the plan of FFC for De Nieuwe Kuip. The FFC consists of BAM, AM and Siemens.

Scotland’s First Minister, Alex Salmond MSP, visited Stornoway Harbour

Stornoway, 17 April 2014 - Scotland’s First Minister, Alex Salmond MSP, was the guest of Breedon Hebrides yesterday during an official visit to Stornoway Harbour. His visit marked the start of the £9.5 million works contract awarded to BAM Nuttall and Breedon to upgrade to Stornoway’s Ferry Terminal. This work is in preparation for the arrival of a new £42 million ferry in September this year.

BAM wins contract to build fifth lock Brunsbüttel

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 15 April 2014 - The public authority responsible for management, maintenance and operation of the Kiel Canal (the Wasser- und Schifffahrtsamt Brunsbüttel) has awarded the contract for the construction of a fifth lock at Brunsbüttel to the joint venture formed by the BAM operating companies Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, BAM Civiel bv and Wayss & Freytag Spezialtiefbau. The contract value is € 346 million. The construction period is expected to be seven years.

Corio commissions BAM for redevelopment Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht

Bunnik, 28 March 2014 - BAM has been commissioned by Corio Vastgoed Ontwikkeling for the construction of a large-scale underground car park and new retail spaces for the redevelopment of Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht (NL). The contract value amounts to approximately €160 million. The project, which will be developed in phases, has already started. BAM expects to complete the project in 2019.

BAM to build hotel in Cikarang, Indonesia

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 20 March 2014 - BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside of Europe, has been awarded a contract to build the J-Hotel in Cikarang, approximately fifty kilometres east of Jakarta, Indonesia. The contract value of this project for owner PT Gunawan Tarikino Venture Hotelindo amounts to €6 million (IDR 98.5 billion). Project completion is scheduled for October 2015.
