Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 January 2015 – BAM has won a contract (‘letter of intent’) to build the new Felix Platter-Spital in Basel, which will have 240 beds and will be the largest center of Switzerland for academic geriatric medicine and rehabilitation. BAM’s project share is approximately €70 million.

BAM wins contract for Swiss railway tunnel

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 27 January 2015 – Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunnel specialist of Royal BAM Group, has won a joint venture contract for the construction of the 2.6 kilometer long Eppenberg Tunnel in Switzerland. The joint venture partner is the Swiss contractor Marti. The share of Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau is over €35 million. The two-lane tunnel is an important element in the Olten-Aarau railway (halfway between Basel and Zurich), which is currently being widened to four tracks by the Swiss government and the Swiss railway company SBB.

Cardiff, 26 January 2015 - Cardiff-based BAM Construction has placed orders with Welsh businesses worth over £130 million within the last five years, the company has revealed. BAM has recently begun work on a £16 million contract to build a medical research facility at Cardiff University, and is behind other current projects such as a £12 million redevelopment of Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil for developer Hammerson, and an office building for Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

BAM wins joint venture tunnel contract in Frankfurt

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 21 January 2015 - Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunnel specialist of Royal BAM Group, has won a joint venture contract for the construction of the Europagarten Tunnel in Frankfurt. The client is aurelis Asset GmbH in Eschborn, represented by aurelis Real Estate GmbH & Co. KG. The contract value to Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau is approximately €21 million. The construction works will start this month and it is expected that the tunnel will be completed in August 2016.

Artists impression new biotechnology research centre

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 20 January 2015 - The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has commissioned from BAM Danmark the construction of a new biotechnology research centre housing DTU Biosustain - Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability. The contract value is over €27 million. BAM expects to complete the project in July 2016.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 15 January 2015 - Coventry University has awarded the € 48 million (£37 million) contract to build its flagship new Science and Health Building to BAM Construction.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 8 January 2015 - BAM PPP has reached financial close on Irelands Schools Bundle 4 PPP project.

The project comprises four new post-primary schools in Counties Tipperary, Cork, Clare and Louth. The schools will all be constructed on greenfield sites and will have an overall pupil capacity of 2,950.

BAM has worked with the Department of Education and Skills (DoES) and the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) to reach Financial Close as expected this year. This significant project is the first accommodation-based project in the Irish Government’s Stimulus Programme to Close.
