Bunnik, the Netherlands, 13 March 2015 – BAM International has been awarded a €37 million design and construct contract for the rehabilitation and extension of Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) in Tanzania, which is situated between Moshi and Arusha in northern Tanzania. BAM expects to complete the works for Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company (KADCO) in 2017.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 10 March 2015 - BAM Bouw en Vastgoed has come to the conclusion that there is no possibility to carry out the plans that Feyenoord Founders Consortium (BAM, AM and Siemens) have developed (based on the requirements as specified by Feyenoord) for a new stadium (new Kuip) within the maximum construction budget set by Feyenoord of €206 million. BAM has budgeted construction activities at €215 million (excluding inflation).

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 4 March 2015 - BAM Infra has transferred the piling and civil engineering activities of its subsidiary BAM Nelis de Ruiter at Halfweg (near Amsterdam) to Kleybruggen B.V., which will continue the activities in a new subsidiary Nelis Infra (www.nelisinfra.nl). The drilling activities will be continued by Gebr. van Leeuwen Boringen B.V.

Gouda, 25 February 2015 - Following the successful completion of the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, BAM International is now making good progress with the second phase for the Al Ain Stadium Mixed Use Development Project – Phase 2.1 for client AAFAQ Holding. This development includes housing (550 apartments in six five-storey buildings), a commercial building, a multi-storey car park, a food and beverage souk, and a 172 rooms and suites’ hotel with its own car park (to be managed by Aloft hotels part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts).

School children help towards ‘Exceptional’ ratings for Beorma project

Birmingham, 24 February 2015 - Site hoardings designed by local school children to celebrate Birmingham’s history have helped the building firm behind the Beorma development win national recognition for the project. BAM Construct was rated as ‘exceptional’ in three of five categories measured by national industry image body the Considerate Constructors Scheme. The contractor was described as ‘excellent’ in the other two categories for the way it is running the mixed-use Birmingham project.

Design for V&A Museum of Design Dundee by Kengo Kuma & Associates.

Dundee / Hemel Hempstead, 24 February 2015 - BAM is pleased to announce that the construction contract between Dundee City Council and BAM Construction Ltd to build the V&A Museum of Design Dundee has been signed. Work on site will begin next month under the £80.11 million project, with the main building completed by the end of 2017 and opened to the public before June 2018.

(Presseinformation Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH):) Kiel/Lübeck, 23. Februar 2015 - Fünf Monate nach Vertragsunterzeichnung mit dem Konsortium BAM/VAMED laufen die Vorbereitungen für die anstehenden Bauarbeiten zur Modernisierung des Universitätsklinikums Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) auf Hochtouren. Erste sichtbare Zeichen werden in Kiel der Bau eines Interimsgebäudes für die Frauenklinik zwischen der bisherigen Frauenklinik und der Augenklinik sowie in Lübeck die Einrichtung des Baufeldes für den Neubau an das Zentralklinikum sein. Sämtliche Arbeiten beginnen, sobald die erfor¬derlichen Genehmigungen vorliegen, voraussichtlich im Sommer 2015. Um das Baufeld für die Arbeiten am Zentralklinikum vorzubereiten, müssen zunächst die Baumfällarbeiten bis zum 15. März abgeschlossen sein.

Mahieu will resign by rotation as a member of the Supervisory Board, in connection with the end of her term of appointment following the Annual General Meeting on 22 April 2015. If the General Meeting does not make any other recommendations, the Supervisory Board intends, taking into account the enhanced recommendation of the central works council, to propose that Ms Mahieu be reappointed for a period of four years.

Royal Shakespeare Company appoints BAM for ‘The Other Place’

Hemel Hempstead, 16 February 2015 - Birmingham-based BAM Construction is to carry out a major refurbishment of a Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. The contractor, which was behind the recent overhaul of the National Indoor Arena (now the Barclaycard Arena) in Birmingham, will deliver the transformation of the RSC’s iconic studio theatre, The Other Place.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 3 February 2015 – BAM Infra has transferred the drainage activities of its subsidiary BAM Nelis De Ruiter, to Mos Grondwatertechniek. Mos Grondwatertechniek has expertise in groundwater control and dewatering. The transaction includes nine employees, work in progress, and plant and equipment.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 January 2015 – BAM has won a contract (‘letter of intent’) to build the new Felix Platter-Spital in Basel, which will have 240 beds and will be the largest center of Switzerland for academic geriatric medicine and rehabilitation. BAM’s project share is approximately €70 million.

BAM wins contract for Swiss railway tunnel

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 27 January 2015 – Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunnel specialist of Royal BAM Group, has won a joint venture contract for the construction of the 2.6 kilometer long Eppenberg Tunnel in Switzerland. The joint venture partner is the Swiss contractor Marti. The share of Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau is over €35 million. The two-lane tunnel is an important element in the Olten-Aarau railway (halfway between Basel and Zurich), which is currently being widened to four tracks by the Swiss government and the Swiss railway company SBB.

Cardiff, 26 January 2015 - Cardiff-based BAM Construction has placed orders with Welsh businesses worth over £130 million within the last five years, the company has revealed. BAM has recently begun work on a £16 million contract to build a medical research facility at Cardiff University, and is behind other current projects such as a £12 million redevelopment of Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil for developer Hammerson, and an office building for Morriston Hospital in Swansea.
