BAM-GRAHAM Healthcare Partnership chosen for new £57 million Belfast Maternity Unit at Royal Victoria Hospital

Belfast, 27 October 2017 – GRAHAM and BAM have been chosen by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to construct its new £57 million maternity hospital at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. The project will be delivered through GRAHAM-BAM Healthcare Partnership, a joint venture between GRAHAM Construction and BAM Ireland.

‘Adopt a School’ programme nets Leeds College of Building one of Yorkshire’s biggest contractors as a new sponsor

Leeds, 26 October 2017 - Teaching and learning in the digital construction sector in Yorkshire has been given a boost as Leeds College of Building has signed up BAM Construction as a sponsor. The College helps to deliver the award winning Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) learning programme in schools and sixth form centres through the national ‘Adopt A School’ programme. BAM employs around 175 people in the region plus around a thousand sub-contractors from its office based in Thorpe Park.

BAM wins joint venture contract for wharf in Kitimat, BC, Canada

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 18 October 2017 – BAM International (the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe) together with JJM Construction (Canada) and Manson Construction (USA) has been awarded the contract to build the new Rio Tinto Aluminium BC Works wharf on behalf of LNG Canada. This wharf will replace the existing Rio Tinto Terminal B, used for import and export of raw materials and finished products for Rio Tinto’s ongoing operations, that needs to be relocated due to the planned LNG export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia (approximately 600 km northwest of Vancouver).

IMC-BAM-Atkins consortium providing safe water supply in Sierra Leone

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 17 October 2017 - In consortium with IMC Worldwide and Atkins, BAM has been awarded the design and construction contract to rehabilitate the water supply in Sierra Leone’s capital city, Freetown. The contract will develop the scheme through feasibility studies, engineering and detailed design and construction using NEC target cost contracts to demonstrate value and cost for each stage. BAM’s part of the project will amount to approximately €25 million.

(Pressemitteilung DB:) Stuttgart, 10 Oktober 2017 - Die DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH hat im Beisein von Tunnelpatin Simone Herrmann den Durchschlag in der zweiten Röhre – der Weströhre – des Tunnels Bad Cannstatt gefeiert. Damit sind nach rund dreieinhalb Jahren die beiden Röhren der Zuführung Bad Cannstatt vom Nordkopf des künftigen Stuttgarter Hauptbahnhofs bis zum Zwischenangriff Rosenstein komplett aufgefahren, insgesamt rund 5.100 Tunnelmeter. Dazwischen liegt der Zwischenangriff Nord, von wo aus der Vortrieb in beide Richtungen erfolgt ist. „Ich habe größte Hochachtung vor den Menschen, die hier arbeiten, ob nun als Ingenieure, Mineure, Elektriker, in der Werkstatt oder im Lager. Tunnelbau kann nur gelingen, wenn alle mitziehen und zusammenarbeiten. Ich finde es immer wieder schön zu spüren, dass sich hier alle Beteiligten als Gemeinschaft verstehen“, sagte Tunnelpatin Simone Herrmann.

BAM wins contract for two Möbius office towers in Brussels

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 9 October 2017 - - Interbuild nv – an operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in Flanders and Brussels for non-residential and residential projects – has won the contract for the two exclusive Möbius offices in Brussels’ northern district. Interbuild will deliver the two office towers for client IMMOBEL, the largest listed property development group in Belgium. The contract value is €83 million.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 6 October 2017 – BAM has been awarded the contract for the structural works (excluding façade and finishing) of the INFINITY housing, office and retail scheme in Luxembourg. The client is real estate developer IMMOBEL. The project will be delivered by BAM’s Walloon subsidiary BAM Galère with its Luxembourg subsidiary BAM Lux in joint venture with Cegelec (mechanical and electrical contracting). The joint venture will start construction of the offices in October 2017. The scheme is due to be completed mid-2020 for the residential building.
