BAM wins contract for two Möbius office towers in Brussels

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 9 October 2017 - - Interbuild nv – an operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active in Flanders and Brussels for non-residential and residential projects – has won the contract for the two exclusive Möbius offices in Brussels’ northern district. Interbuild will deliver the two office towers for client IMMOBEL, the largest listed property development group in Belgium. The contract value is €83 million.

The striking design of the Möbius towers is by Assar Architects. Their elliptical shape distinguishes the towers from the rigid architectural appearance of the surrounding buildings. With 20 (Möbius I) and 23 (Möbius II) storeys, 80 and 97 metres high respectively, the towers provide nearly 62,000 m² of office space.

The towers will create a unique working atmosphere with their full glass facade, with exceptional panoramic views and direct daylight in all workplaces. The project is designed according to the passive standard (EPB Brussels 2015) and will achieve the BREEAM certificate 'Excellent'.

Interbuild starts constructing the first office tower in January 2018. The construction period will last almost two years. The tower will provide space for the new headquarters of insurance company Allianz, and will be named Allianz Tower. The construction of Möbius II starts as soon as IMMOBEL reaches an agreement with an investor or tenant.
