(Press release Vattenfall:) Amsterdam, 29 November 2018 - Vattenfall has made the decision to invest a total of EUR 64 million in the Haringvliet wind farm in Goeree-Overflakkee (Zuid-Holland) and the Moerdijk wind farm in Noord-Brabant. This is a major milestone for Vattenfall, whose ambition is to achieve fossil fuel-free living within one generation.

Heijmans and BAM are investigating possible joint venture asphalt plants

Rosmalen / Bunnik, the Netherlands, 28 November 2018 - Heijmans and BAM are investigating the possibilities to transfer their current asphalt plants in the Netherlands to a new joint asphalt company. Founding this joint venture will require the approval of the relevant competition authorities. The two companies jointly submitted a request to the European Commission to have the investigation into this transaction carried out by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 23 November 2018 – BAM Sports – the subsidiary of BAM Deutschland AG, which specialises in the construction of stadiums – has been awarded the contract for the complete renewal of Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, situated in the south west of Germany. The stadium serves as home of football club Karlsruher SC, which plays in the 3. Bundesliga. The contract by the City of Karlsruhe includes demolition of the original 1955 stadium and construction of a new stadium for more than 34,000 spectators with a VIP area, clubs offices and a fan shop. The contract value is approximately €100 million.

DB Netz AG awards first contract for 2nd main line Munich’s S-Bahn system
  • Overground West’ project from Laim station to Donnersberger bridge
  • Contract value just under €189 million
  • The contract is awarded to consortium

(English translation of original German press release of DB Netz AG*:) Munich, 15 November 2018 -  DB Netz AG has awarded the first contract for for the main construction parts of the second main line of Munich’s S-Bahn system. A consortium of Ed. Züblin AG, Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, Max Bögl Foundation & Co. KG and Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH has won the contract for the main construction activities. The consortium is now responsible for the construction activities of the ‘Overground West’ project - from the Laim station to the Donnersberger bridge. The contract value is almost €189 million.

Salford, Greater Manchester, 13 November 2018 - The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has appointed BAM Construction’s North West team to design and construct their new Welcome Building and lake at RHS Garden Bridgewater on the site of the former Worsley New Hall. BAM is the Salford-based company behind the construction of over a quarter a billion of current new buildings across the region including universities, offices, schools and leisure centres.

BAM starts joint venture contract for terminal in Kitimat, BC, Canada

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 8 November 2018 – BAM International (the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe) – together with JJM Construction (Canada) and Manson Construction (USA) – has received the full order to build the new Rio Tinto BC Works Terminal A on behalf of LNG Canada. The mobilisation and construction works being carried out by BAM and its partners for the Rio Tinto Terminal A expansion have started. BAM expects to complete this project in Autumn 2020. The project is valued at €95 million ($135 million CAD), with BAM’s share amounting to 50% and JJM and Manson covering the other 50%. BAM initially announced this contract in October 2017, ahead of final confirmation by LNG Canada.
