Argent confirms BAM’s role on new Kings Cross building

Hemel Hempstead, 16 April 2018 - Developer Argent and contractor BAM have confirmed they are working together on a new building at London’s transformation of Kings Cross.

The development, which is so large that it has its own post code (N1C) and is known as Kings Cross Central, will have a new building currently known as S1 (see link below for more information).

The 12-storey office will have retail space on the ground floor level and BAM’s first challenge is to create the right conditions in the ground. When finished, it will closely resemble the newly created building alongside it, known as S2 and the two will have an ‘interlocking’ appearance.

BAM is commencing initial works on the scheme this week, and it completes at the end of 2020. The concept design is by Mossession and the delivery architect is Weedon.

Notes:

BAM has now delivered many of the buildings at Kings Cross – it is behind the current Coal Drops Yard, and created four of the Pancras Square buildings as well as the new pedestrian tunnels and infrastructure. It is behind a new building for the Aga Khan, the University of the Arts, London, the German Gymnasium, Fish and Coal Building, and several others. Elsewhere in London it has recently handed over the new Warner Stand at Lord’s Cricket Ground, and the New Scotland Yard building to the Metropolitan Police.
