BAM to open doors to projects during UK initiative

4 March 2019 - BAM Construction is ‘opening the doors’ on four construction projects as part of the UK-wide ‘Open Doors’ initiative this month.

During the week, which runs from 18 to 23 March, BAM is inviting members of the public to visit to Maidenhill Primary and Nursery School in Newton Mearns on Wednesday 20th; Jedburgh Intergenerational Campus on Thursday 21st and Atlantic Square, a Grade A building in the heart of Glasgow’s International Financial Services District on Friday 22 March.

Capital Square, a prime office development in Edinburgh, will be open on the morning of Saturday 23 March.

Bruce Dickson, regional director, BAM Construction, said: ‘Open Doors is designed to challenge preconceptions about the construction industry. As well as allowing our neighbours to see what is happening behind the hoarding and get a preview of what the finished job will look like using BIM 3D technology, we showcase all of the skills of the people involved in making these projects happen, and the different career opportunities in this amazing industry.’

Spaces on the tours are limited and children must be accompanied by an adult. Tours can be booked by visiting here.

Maidenhill School will provide early learning and community facilities for a new residential community featuring 834 homes. Jedburgh Campus will feature provision for nursery, primary and secondary school children and community facilities including a multi-use games area, 2G hockey pitch, 3G sports pitch, running track, changing pavilion and rural skills area.

Atlantic Square in Glasgow’s Broomielwaw will be a UK Government Hub accommodating HM Revenue & Customs in a state-of-the-art office development. Capital Square will feature eight floors, spanning 122,500 sq ft of prime office accommodation in the Exchange Business District of Edinburgh.

Open Doors Day is organised by BuildUK in partnership with Go Construct, part of the Construction Industry Training Board.
