BAM Nuttall lead bidder for Brent Cross South infrastructure contract

Camberley, 13 May 2019 - BAM Nuttall is delighted to be selected as the preferred infrastructure contractor for the Brent Cross South development by the joint venture established between Argent Related and Barnet Council. The framework will deliver infrastructure over the next 10-15 year; a critical part of the project’s delivery, enabling the new town centre via improvements to community, social and leisure facilities for existing and new residents and businesses in this part of north London. The contract includes new and improved parks and public spaces; streets and roads; and services, drainage and utilities, in preparation for the construction of new homes, workspace and retail and leisure.

BAM Nuttall has worked with Argent, Argent Related’s sister firm, for more than ten years. The two businesses have previously successfully partnered on large-scale regeneration projects such as London’s King’s Cross: the scheme around one of London’s principal railway stations was delivered by both of Royal BAM Group’s UK operating companies – BAM Nuttall and BAM Construct UK. It required ground work investigation and extensive landscaping to improve busy public spaces used by commuters, tourists and residents.

Argent Related in partnership with Barnet Council is in the process of designing and developing a 10 million sq ft mixed use neighbourhood at Brent Cross South. Outline planning permission has been granted along with detailed permission for the first 1,000 homes, and construction is scheduled to commence in 2020.

Building on the strengths of this diverse part of the city, Brent Cross South will draw inspiration from the best of London’s long-established neighbourhoods with all their complexity and character. At its heart will be a focus on sport, play, health and well-being.

The new neighbourhood will provide 6,700 homes, workspace for over 25,000 people and pedestrian friendly streets and squares with local shops and restaurants that will complement the offer at Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

The community will be supported by first-class public transport infrastructure, a new and improved network of walking and cycle routes and a series of new parks, squares and other amenities.
