20 August 2019 - GRAHAM-Bam Healthcare Partnership (GBHP), which delivers strategic healthcare projects on the island of Ireland, recently (16 August 2019) hosted a construction insight event at its Royal Victoria Hospital Maternity site, to support the WOMEN’STEC Summer Scheme for girls.

BAM 2019H1: adjusted pre-tax loss of €27.2m; FY 2019 margin outlook of around 1% confirmed
  • As announced on 8 July, results were impacted by higher costs on a civil project and construction projects in Germany, and a BAM International project. The total impact is €94m.
  • Construction and Property: strong performance in the Netherlands and UK, offset by project losses in Germany and International
  • Civil engineering: negative result includes additional loss of €7.5m at OpenIJ project in 2019H1
  • PPP: strong performance and two new projects (one financial close and one preferred bidder)
  • Order book: stable compared to 2018 due to focus on quality over volume
  • Strong cash position with trade working capital efficiency at -9.1%

Camberley, 15 August 2019 - Pitlochry community welcomed the return of an historic railway feature in celebration of the completion of the Highland Mainline project. The Pitlochry station fountain was restored to the platform following a full refurbishment.

Aberdeen-Inverness line to reopen on-time for passengers

August 2019 - Historischer Meilenstein am Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein: Mit einer Feierstunde und einem Tag der offenen Tür hat das Klinikum der Zukunft am Freitag, 16. August 2019, am Campus Kiel seine Pforten geöffnet. Mehr als 5000 Gäste und Besucher, darunter 700 Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens, verschafften sich einen Eindruck vom neuen zentralen Klinikgebäude. Ministerpräsident Daniel Günther eröffnete gemeinsam mit Prof. Dr. Jens Scholz, Vorstandsvorsitzender des UKSH, und dem Kieler Oberbürgermeister Dr. Ulf Kämpfer eines der europaweit modernsten Medizinzentren, im Beisein von Wolfgang Kubicki, Vizepräsident des Deutschen Bundestages. Musikalisch wurde der Festakt vom Duo „Runge und Ammon“ des Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestivals und der Sängerin Sarah Connor untermalt.

SeaRock provides protection to picturesque Dorset coast

(Press release Aggregate Industries:) 12 August 2019 - SeaRock – a new joint venture between Aggregate Industries and Earlcoate construction – has completed an impressive delivery of armour stone to protect Dorset’s picturesque West Bay, for principle contractor BAM Nuttall. The project was part of a £9 million coastal defence project, funded by Defra, West Dorset Council and Wessex Regional Flood Defence Committee.
