David Anderson wins international quality professional award

Camberley, 19 November 2020 - David Anderson, BAM Nuttall’s Head of Business Process & Quality, has been named ‘International Quality Professional of the year’ in the Chartered Quality Institute’s International Quality Awards 2020. BAM Nuttall was one of five finalists in the highly esteemed ‘Quality Organisation of the Year’ category, narrowly beaten to the top award by Jacobs. The prestigious international awards attracted over 100 entries from organisations in 23 countries committed to delivering quality for their workforce and their customers.

David Anderson was one of three nominees for the ‘Quality Professional’ of the year award. He is chair of BAM’s Group-wide Business Process Excellence Group, a Director and trustee of the Lean Construction Institute (LCI), a steering group member for the Get It Right Initiative (GIRI) and co-chair of the Lean working group for the European Network of Construction Companies for Research and Development (ENCORD).

The International Quality Awards judges commented on David’s award: ‘Our winner has managed to be influential at all levels, achieving the holy grail of taking the quality function from being a bit player to being an essential contributor to the key business decisions. He did this whilst also building the respect of his team, undertaking significant work outside of his day-to-day role in his own time, and retaining a humility which came across clearly to all the judges.’
