BAM sells German quarry to Remex

BAM verkoopt Duitse steengroeve aan Remex

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 15 December 2021 – Royal BAM Group nv has reached agreement to sell the quarry Großtagebau Kamsdorf (a subsidiary of Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG) to Remex Gmbh. Remex is a subsidiary of the German recycling, industrial services and water management company Remondis. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.

Großtagebau Kamsdorf has annual revenues of approximately €4 million and employs approximately twenty people. The company is a medium-sized producer of building materials, industrial aggregates and fertilizers. In the open-pit mine, selective extraction is used to mine dolomite, limestone, greywacke and clay shale. Kamsdorf is located in the German state of Thuringia, central Germany.

The transaction follows BAM’s new strategy ‘Building a sustainable tomorrow’, which focuses on growth markets in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Ireland. In other markets, where BAM has less scale and competitive advantage, the Group is managing its subsidiaries for value and possible divestment.
