Overview

(Press release Invesis:) Brussels, 1 July 2022 - Quality education goes hand in hand with quality infrastructure and the Flemish Government is committed to investing in school infrastructure. Through project-specific Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) agreements which provide an alternative financing option with the private sector, Agion, an independent agency for Infrastructure in Education established by the Flemish Government, has created a programme for public-private investment to deliver brand new and renovated schools. This DBFM programme includes 42 projects scattered over 13 clusters and will create a total of 250,000 m² of new school buildings. The Egied Van Broeckhoven school in Brussels, Belgium, is the first project within this programme.

Competition to name the new Carrigaline Western Relief Road

(Press release Cork County Council:) Cork, Ireland, 21 June 2022 - The new Carrigaline Western Relief Road will be named by the local community, following a proposal by the Elected Members of Carrigaline Municipal District. Children attending schools in Carrigaline together with members of the public are invited to submit their proposed name, which should recognise the links to Carrigaline’s past while also considering the towns future.

Delta Marine Consultants to explore feasibility of modular coastal protection system in Singapore

Modular system is based on DMC’s proven XblocPlus solution for coastal protection, which will be tailored to suit Singapore’s wave climate and local site conditions

Singapore, 20 June 2022 – Delta Marine Consultants (DMC) will work with national coastal protection agency PUB to assess the feasibility of implementing its modular system, XblocPlus, along suitable sections of Singapore’s coastline to tackle sea level rise.

BAM confirmed for net zero carbon in operation school in Wigan

Hemel Hempstead, 20 June 2022 - BAM has been appointed through the Department for Education’s high value framework to redevelop Fred Longworth High School in Tyldesley, in Wigan, Greater Manchester. The £24 million contract will see BAM create a three-storey teaching block, to be handed over in September 2023. It will be Net Zero Carbon in Operation.

BAM agrees to sell German infrastructure company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau to ZECH Building

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 21 June 2022 - Royal BAM Group nv has reached agreement on the sale of the shares of the German operating company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau to ZECH Building SE, in which all construction activities of the Zech Group are bundled. The transaction is subject to approval by the competition authorities and is expected to be completed in the third quarter.

Topping out ceremony for the Fehmarnbelt link’s tunnel factory

Forty Dutch multinationals embrace new Tax Governance Code

(Press release VNO-NCW:) The Hague, the Netherlands, 18 May 2022 – More than 40 major Dutch multinationals are embracing the new Tax Governance Code, which the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) is presenting today. This concerns a large group of listed companies, including 20 of the 25 companies listed on the AEX. A few high-profile unlisted cooperatives and family businesses are also embracing the new code. The Tax Governance Code was announced as part of the new course that the employers organisation has set (Doing business to create broad welfare). More companies are expected to join the code in the near future.
