Bunnik, the Netherlands / Berlin, Germany, 11 November 2022 - Today, 11 November 2022, the A10/A24 AS Neuruppin to AD Pankow motorway near the German capital of Berlin has officially opened to traffic. The six-lane expansion of the A10 and thoroughly modernised A24 is Brandenburg’s first public private partnership (PPP) project and the occasion was celebrated by the client, DEGES GmbH, a publicly-owned project management company representing the Federal Republic of Germany, the Invesis consortium Havellandautobahn GmbH & Co. KG and local stakeholders.
After almost five years of construction which commenced in March 2018, construction of one of the busiest routes in the capital region has completed ahead of schedule and an important milestone has been reached. between the interchanges of Pankow and Neuruppin by the construction partner Arge A10/A24 Havellandautobahn.
The new motorway was officially opened by the Federal Transport Minister, Dr. Volker Wissing, who was joined by the Minister for Infrastructure and Planning at the State of Brandenburg, Mr Guido Beerman, Management Board member of Autobahn GmbH of the Federal Government, Mrs Anne Rethmann, and Invesis Project Director and Havellandautobahn GmbH & Co. KG Managing Director, Dr. Thomas Stütze.
The Havellandautobahn consortium, with shareholders Invesis (70%) and HABAU PPP GmbH (30%), is responsible as a private partner not only for the expansion and renewal of the motorway, but also for its operation and maintenance for the next 30 years.
Ludger Sehr, Head of PPP, Deges GmbH, said: ‘As the project developer, DEGES can only implement and realise a major project such as the expansion of the A10/A24 with reliable and efficient partners. Havellandautobahn GmbH & Co has impressively demonstrated that such a demanding project can be successfully implemented together thanks to professional project management, planning and construction know how. The high quality and the on-budget and on-schedule project completion prove that the efforts are worthwhile’.
