BAM Ireland shows strong recovery in 2021

Kill, Co. Kildare, 22 September 20222 - BAM Ireland, one of the country’s leading construction firms, has recovered from the impact of Covid-19 restrictions and has shown strong improvement in its annual report for 2021. The company had a consolidated turnover of €626.2 million for 2021 compared to €460.8 million in 2020, resulting in a turnaround to a pre-tax profit of €10.7 million from a pre-tax loss of €16.9 million in 2020.

Big step forward for Glasgow bridge as BAM installs Scotland’s first 3D concrete printed staircase

Glasgow, 19 September 2022 - As work on Sighthill Bridge across the M8 in Glasgow nears completion, BAM has become the first contractor in Scotland to make use of 3D concrete printing – installing the staircase which will provide access to the new structure. It is believed to be largest printed concrete construction in the UK to date.

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 16 September 2022 – Royal BAM Group nv has sold its German operating company Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau to ZECH Building SE, which bundles all construction activities of the Zech Group. The transaction, announced on 21 June 2022, has been successfully completed.

BAM introduces first construction machine with hydrogen combustion engine

Gouda, the Netherlands, 5 September 2022 - BAM Infra Nederland – in close collaboration with Koninklijke van Twist *) – has successfully converted a diesel-powered asphalt spreading paver into a machine with a hydrogen combustion engine. The engine emits virtually no nitrogen oxide and saves approximately 80,420 kilograms of CO₂ on an annual basis.

Invesis’ Chief Finance Officer, Chris Williams, has been announced as his successor and will take on the role of CEO with effect from 1 November 2022. Mr Meade will remain as a Board Director until the end of the year to facilitate the transition.

BAM reports €182 million adjusted EBITDA in first half-year

Royal BAM Group nv delivered a strong first half-year of 2022, based on a solid operational performance, further de-risking on projects and substantial progress with divestments. The net result improved significantly to €86 million. The cash position and order backlog remain at a good level. For 2022, BAM expects to deliver an adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 4 per cent, excluding the anticipated result on the Wayss & Freytag divestment. BAM expects to propose a dividend over the full-year 2022.
