From a cutting-edge university in Ireland to an energy-smart school in Kent, BAM is creating places where learning and sustainability go hand in hand.
We are progressing with the development of a new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) building at Atlantic Technological University’s (ATU) Galway City campus in Ireland, a project that will enhance learning, research and industry engagement. This flagship 5,500m² facility will deliver state-of-the-art teaching, laboratory and collaborative spaces for the engineering, science and computing disciplines. Designed to foster innovation and close industry links, the building will expand ATU’s capacity to develop highly skilled STEM graduates ready to meet Ireland’s future workforce needs.
We have completed the teaching facilities at the new £32.8 million Orchards Academy in Swanley, Kent, which is now officially open. The project, scheduled for full completion in summer 2026, will accommodate 750 students and provide 6,214 m² of modern, sustainable teaching and sports facilities.
The academy features hundreds of solar panels to reduce energy use and costs, along with a green roof that enhances environmental performance and supports biodiversity. BAM has also employed low-carbon concrete and recycled materials during construction, cutting carbon emissions by 133 tonnes.
