Start of construction of underground infrastructure for sustainable expansion of TU Delft campus

Following a successful design phase, we are now starting work on the construction of the underground infrastructure and construction roads at Campus South of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. This infrastructure is essential for sustainable energy supply, digital connectivity and the further growth of Campus South as a leading knowledge district in the Netherlands. The project will run until May 2028.

Technical backbone

Over the coming years, TU Delft will develop Campus South into a vibrant environment with new facilities for education and research, to stimulate interaction and collaboration. With the construction of the underground infrastructure, we are working with our partner Van Vulpen to build the technical backbone  for this development. In total, we are laying 17 km of electricity cables, 15 km of pipes for thermal energy storage (TES), 4 km of sewers, 4 km of data cables and 5 km of other facilities. We are also constructing the preloads, construction roads and a culvert on the construction site in preparation for the new roads and accessibility of the new buildings.
