BAM acquires Belgian civil engineering company Betonac

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 14 September 2007 – Royal BAM Group nv has acquired all the shares of Belgian civil engineering company Betonac nv, based in Sint-Truiden. The transaction, which was announced early August, has been fully completed.

Betonac has an annual turnover of approximately €100 million and a good operating result. The company has a workforce of around 350 and specialises in concrete and asphalt road building and civil engineering works. The takeover of Betonac fits in with BAM's growth strategy as announced late last year in its strategic agenda for 2007-2009. It is a substantial addition to the Group's civil engineering activities in the Belgian market, which are already being developed by operating companies Galère and CEI-De Meyer.
