BAM acquires major contract for hospital in Frankfurt Höchst

Bunnik, the Netherlands, 15 April 2016 - BAM Deutschland AG (the German operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, specialising in general building projects) has won a new contract in joint venture with Max Bögl Stiftung & Co. KG to build a hospital in Frankfurt Höchst. The contract value for BAM is more than €150 million. The six floor building has a total gross floor area of 79,000 sqm. BAM expects to complete the project in early 2019.

The hospital will have 664 beds and will take care of 33.500 patients each year. The new health facility has ten operating rooms and a so-called hybrid operating room, which will have special equipment like a CT and MRI scan.

The Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst is designed by Wörner Traxler Richter Architekten in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Höchst Hospital will be the first hospital, which will be built according to the sustainable standards of the passive house concept. The guidelines for this pilot project have been developed by the Passivhaus Institut Darmstadt together with the ZEG (Zentrale ErrichtungsGesellschaft ) mbH in Frankfurt.
