Bunnik/Amersfoort, the Netherlands, 12 July 2016 – Royal BAM Group nv has the intention to sell its construction and properties subsidiary Heilijgers to its management. The company has more than one hundred employees and a pretax profit of €1 million with a total revenue of €40 million in 2015. BAM expects to be able to complete the transaction with a modest book profit in the very near future.

Heilijgers has a history of more than one hundred years and has been part of BAM since 1998. The company is mainly active in the central area of the Netherlands. The services include project development, construction, renovation and maintenance, and property management. Heilijgers is a full service property company with strong and long-standing customer relationships.

The decision to transfer Heilijgers to its present management is part of BAM’s strategy ‘Building the present, creating the future’, which the Group presented recently. One aspect of the strategy relates to shaping the business portfolio (‘Doing better things’). Among other things this includes exiting operational activities that do not offer sufficient opportunities to use scale or differentiation as critical success factors. As an independently operating company with its own identity Heilijgers takes a different position within the Group. Also Heilijgers has a different business model as the company combines various property services within one organisation.
