BAM meets buyers in Fife supplier day event

6 June 2013 12:29 - BAM Construction, London

Hemel Hempstead, 5 June 2013 - BAM Construction has taken part in a recent Fife Meet the Buyer event.

Over 60 companies attended the event at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline, which showcased over £55 million worth of project opportunities as part of the programme to build new schools in Burntisland, Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth.
They met members of the BAM Construction delivery team who helped them identify opportunities to become involved in one or more projects by being added to our supply chain or tender lists.
Steven Brady of BAM Construction said: 'This event has proven to be a great success as it allowed us to meet with companies based in Fife that we’d previously not been aware of but can now offer them the opportunity to work with us on this programme. We have been able to gather details from a wide spectrum of services today which have ranged from skills and training providers to landscape contractors.'

'What really struck me was the enthusiasm amongst the businesses for these school projects and we hope that we can tap into this resource and ensure that even more of the business community and people of Fife are involved in the delivery of these projects when they come to site.'

BAM has already delivered Dunfermline High School, whilst Auchmuty High School is nearing completion and Burntisland Primary has started on site.
Future projects include East Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth High Schools and Madras College.
Hosted by Fife Council’s Economic Development Team in partnership with BAM Construction, the event was also attended by representatives of Fife Council Property Services who are managing the delivery of new schools in the Building Fife’s Future programme and working with Amber Blue for the schools being procured in the East Central hub, as well as representatives from Fife Chamber of Commerce, Business Gateway and the Supplier Development Programme.
