FCI Constructors wins $68 million contract to improve Route 15 in California

Longmont, CO, 17 August 2004 - The California Department of Transportation awarded southern California's FCI Constructors a new $68 million contract to improve portions of Route 15 in San Diego, California.

FCI Constructors, the southern California division of Colorado-based Flatiron Construction, will work in joint venture with Balfour Beatty to construct new managed lanes and widen Route 15 between Carmel Ranch and Rancho Bernardo.

As a 70% shareholder, FCI will manage the project to replace bridges at Rancho Bernardo, construct new retaining walls, place PCC pavement and install new drainage systems.
