Ghent University and BAM reach financial close PPP-project Kantienberg

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 22 October 2009 – The, in august 2009 reported, project of Ghent University for design, build, finance and maintenance (DBFM) of approximately 650 student apartments and an underground parking, as well as redevelopment of the university restaurant, has reached contractual and financial close. The project Kantienberg has a value of approximately €100 million for BAM.

The apartment building is designed by Huiswerk architects in Antwerp. The first apartments will be ready in 2011. The project will be completed in 2012.

For this project BAM PPP (the operating company of Royal BAM Group, specialised in public-private partnerships) is working in close collaboration with its Belgian sister company CEI-De Meyer.

The financing for this project will be provided by NIBC Bank and BNG Bank.
