HBG Construction awarded £6.7 million office development contract

HBG Construction Ltd will commence work this month on the design and construction of a 5,866 sq.m [63,141sq.ft] office development on Highlands Road, Solihull.

The client for the £6.7m project is HBG Properties Ltd, which is now undertaking its second speculative development in the Solihull area.

Located at the junction of Highlands Road and Arleston Way in Solihull, the so-called ‘Interface’ development will comprise four high-specification office buildings, which will range in size from 1,021 sq.m [10,998 sq.ft] to 1,875 sq.m [20,180 sq.ft].  Completion of Interface is due by the end of the year, and is the first of five new developments planned for the area, including the 25,000 sq.ft McCann Ericsson Headquarters.

Interface will be the second speculative development HBG Properties has undertaken in Solihull over the last 18 months.  Tangent Court, a two-building 40,000 sq.ft office development, was pre-sold to National Power and pre-let to Paragon over four months prior to completion, and the subsequent investment sale was completed at the end of last year.

Architect for the project is Corstorphine & Wright, quantity surveyor is Elias Topping and structural engineer is BJB Consultancy Ltd.
