HBG Construction maintains success in higher education sector

HBG Construction has been awarded a £7.7 million contract to provide two new buildings at the University of Lancaster, bringing the company’s current total of university projects to seven.

The design and build contract involves construction of research and teaching facilities for the University and the National Environment Research Council [NERC], and refurbishment of additional buildings. The project includes provision of controlled environment rooms, clean rooms, laboratories and 15 glasshouses.

Work on the project for Lancaster University Developments Ltd will start on site in March this year for completion in July 2003.

The client’s team comprises project manager Gardiner Theobold Management Services, architect FaulknerBrown and quantity surveyor Gardiner Theobold. The HBG team includes architect Taylor Young, structural engineer Allott and Lomax and services engineer Hoare Lea.
