HBG Construction wins two new Edinburgh office projects

Two office contracts worth a total of £5.2 million have been awarded to HBG Construction in Edinburgh.

HBG has been appointed to construct a new three-storey office complex for Kilmartin Properties at Powderhall, Edinburgh. The £3.2 million project has been designed by 3D Architects, project manager and quantity surveyor is Summerfield Robb Clark and the structural engineer is The Robertson Partnership.

Work is scheduled to start this month on construction of a new £2.0 million 17,000 square feet, air-conditioned office block adjacent to Edinburgh’s Haymarket station. This is the second phase of development undertaken by HBG on the Haymarket site, and follows the highly-successful development and sale of Elgin House, which was procured under a PFI contract for Inland Revenue Scotland.

The new building, arranged over three floors, will provide column free open plan office space and is due to be completed by March 2001. The architect is Hugh Martin Partnership, structural engineer is Blyth & Blyth and quantity surveyor is Tozer Capita.
