HBG says Business Council needs to engage with construction sector

London, 16 July 2007 - HBG UK Ltd, has written to the Secretary of State at the new Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform asking him to ensure that the new Business Council for Britain engages with the construction industry.

In a letter to The Rt Hon John Hutton MP, HBG's Chief Executive, Richard Gregory, says: 'I was delighted to see the establishment of the Business Council for Britain and that you will be attending its meetings. While the Council is a welcome development, many in the construction industry will feel disappointed by the absence of a senior figure from our sector among the Council's membership.'

'I hope that you will encourage the Council to develop mechanisms for participation by all sectors of the economy. HBG will certainly be ready to play its part in helping the Council in its work, in whatever ways we can, whether through formal or informal structures.'
