HBG wins five West Country/South Wales contracts totalling £23.5 million

HBG Construction Ltd has been awarded five new projects in the West Country and South Wales with a total value of more than of more than £23.5 million.

At Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education, the company is due to start work on the Oxstalls Sports Science Centre, a new teaching block incorporating lecture theatres and laboratories. The £9.2 million project is due for completion in June 2002.

A £6 million contract for a new B&Q retail warehouses at Imperial Park, Bristol has also been awarded. The project, for client Chartwell Land Imperial Park Ltd, will be completed in June next year.

At Weston-super-Mare, HBG is to build a £1.8 million extension to the Weston General Hospital A&E unit. The design and build contract is for the Weston Area Health Trust and is due for completion in December 2001.

Over the Severn Estuary in South Wales, HBG Construction has been awarded a £2.8 million contract by its HBG group sister company Edmund Nuttall Ltd to construct a steel frame cladded services and administration building and two additional minor buildings. The work is to be undertaken at the Baglan Power Station near Port Talbot.

Completing the fivesome is an extension to the Royal United Hospital in Bath where HBG Construction has already successfully completed a major redevelopment. The new £3.75 million contract will provide additional wards and will be completed by March 2002.
