Improvement of the M1 motorway
Nuttall, HBG's British civil engineering group company, has been awarded a 9.8 million-euro contract for the improvement plan on junction 15a of the M1 at Rothersthorpe. The work will involve constructing another archway under the motorway to add a second carriageway to the A43.
The scheme will use an innovative form of construction that involves jacking a concrete box section underneath the M1. Design work has started in January. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2003.
