Interbuild builds sustainable Flemish Administrative Centre in Leuven, Belgium

Bunnik, The Netherlands, 10 November 2008 - Interbuild nv - operating company of Royal BAM Group, active on the non-residential building market of Flanders and Brussels - has won the contract for the construction of the Flemish Administrative Centre in Leuven. The project value amounts to approximately € 30 million. The project has been developed by Diestsepoort nv, a consortium including Kaïros, the Belgian property development company of Royal BAM Group. Diestsepoort will let the building for a period of 27 years to the Flemish government.

The office complex will comprise 23,000 sq m and 158 parking places. It features a 200 metre long building on the ground floor with a tower of seventeen floors above it. Architects are M. & J-M. Jaspers - J. Eyers & Partners, in association with architects Gigantes Zenghelis from Athens and Bureau Bouwtechniek. Much attention has been given to sustainability. Extra heat insulation and energy-saving techniques provide for very low energy usage.

The construction period will be 24 months. Interbuild expects to complete the building late 2010
